Care Smart app - Activate / Set Up Device - Android Smartwatch

Here's how to pair your Android smartwatch with the Care Smart app.
  • Prior to activating your Android smartwatch, ensure:
    • the companion smartphone is connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network.
    • all devices (Trusted Contacts, etc.) update the Care Smart app (Google Play Store).
    • there isn't a data, text or Caller ID block on either the watch or the smartphone.
In order to use Get Help with the Care Smart app:
  • The Android smartwatch must be set up on Number Share.
  • The Verizon smartphone will receive a notification to download the Care Smart app upon purchase of the feature (non-Verizon users can download the Care Smart app via the Google Play Store).
    The Care Smart app is compatible with Android version 8 and above.
  • The Account Owner or Account Manager must select the smartphone to receive the download instructions.
  • During the setup process, you'll be prompted to update your watch face to include Care Smart functionality.
  1. Ensure the Care Smart app is downloaded on the smartphone and smartwatch.
  2. Create an account in the Care Smart app.
  3. Power the smartwatch on.
  4. Open the
    Care Smart app
    on the companion smartphone.
    If necessary, install the Care Smart app via the Play Store.
    If prompted, allow location permissions.

Care Smart is only available on the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch5.

  16. If Emergency Contacts have not been added yet, tap
    OK
    and continue on the smartphone.
    Setting up at least 1 Emergency contact is a pre-requisite for enabling Hard fall detection.
