Samsung Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic - Factory Data Reset (Powered Off)
Here's how to factory / hard reset your Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic if the screen freezes or call, app, audio or sync issues occur and the device won't start up.
Performing a factory data reset removes all data from the device. Only perform a reset if absolutely necessary.
Read these instructions in their entirety before attempting.
- Ensure your watch is powered off.If your device is responsive and can be powered on, the preferred reset method should be performed.
- PressPower / Home buttonuntil the Samsung logo appears.
- Press and hold both thePower / Home buttonandBack buttontogether until rebooting appears beneath the Samsung logo then tap the power button twice.The image below is an example.
- From the REBOOT MODE menu, select Recovery.Press and release thePower / Home buttonto cycle through options then press and hold it to select.The device reboots (allow 30-45 seconds for the Recovery menu to appear).
- From the Recovery menu, press theBack buttonto navigate to 'Wipe data / factory reset' then press thePower / Home button.Once the factory reset is performed, data is removed and you're returned to the 'Recovery' screen.The image below is an example.
- From the 'Recovery' screen, press thePower / Home buttonto select 'Reboot system now'.Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.If applicable, set up your device.
