Google Pixel Phones - Second Number - Set Voice / SMS / MMS Preferences
Here's how to configure data, call, and SMS / MMS preferences to support a Second Number plan on your dual SIM Pixel device.
The following Pixel phones don't support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) or eSIM:
- Pixel Phone by Google
- Pixel 2 / 2XL
- Pixel 3 / 3XL
- Pixel 3a / 3aXL
When a call comes in while on the phone, incoming calls to that number go to Call Waiting. Incoming calls to the other line go to that number’s voicemail (customer won’t get a missed-call notice.)
- Open theSettings app.
- TapNetwork & internetthen perform the following:
- Set Default Data Number
- TapSIMs.
- If needed, tap the line for the eSIM (name varies; example Verizon eSIM).
- Tap theUse SIM switchto turn on or off.If you're prompted to download a SIM, contact Customer Service to have a eSIM profile reserved for your device.
- Tap theBack icon
then tap
Mobile data.If unavailable, TapMobile data. - Tap the SIM corresponding to your primary line.With Second Number, you’ll use data from your primary number. This is the line from your Verizon account that you already pay for data on. Selecting the Second Number line results in data services not working.
- Set Call Preference
- TapCallsthen tap the preferred option.If unavailable, do the following:
- TapCalls & SMS.
- TapCalls.
- TapAsk every time(Preferred).Selecting the primary or Second Number line results in all calls originating from the same number. By selecting 'Ask every time', you can choose which number originates the call prior to call.
- Set SMS / MMS Preference
- TapTextsthen tap the preferred option.If unavailable, do the following:
- TapCalls & SMS.
- TapSMS.
- TapAsk every time(Preferred).Selecting the primary or Second Number line results in all text originating from the same number. By selecting 'Ask every time', you choose which number originates the text prior to tapping send.
