Factory Data Reset (Powered On)

Reset your moto g 5G to factory settings as a final troubleshooting step. Use this method if your device is unresponsive or you can't access the Settings menu.

Before you begin

An alternate reset method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.
If troubleshooting third-party apps, don't restore app data.
Perform a factory data reset only if necessary as it removes your Google™ account and all data including system data, app data and media.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    System
    Reset options
    Erase all data (factory reset)
    .
  3. Review the info then tap
    Erase all data
    .
  4. If presented, enter the current unlock PIN, pattern or password.
  5. Tap
    Erase all data
     to confirm and allow several minutes for the factory data reset and reboot processes to complete.
