Apple iPhone 17 / 17e / 17 Air
Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your Apple® iPhone® 17 / iPhone 17 Air to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

iPhone 17 models should be connected to a Wi-Fi network as the Primary method for activation. If Wi-Fi isn't available, you can continue without Wi-Fi if presented.
iPhone 17 models do not have an option for a physical SIM card and can only be activated with an eSIM (embedded SIM card).
From your old iPhone, ensure Find My app is turned off then power off the device.
If you don't have enough storage space and temporary iCloud storage is needed, refer to this Apple Support Page (iOS 15 or newer is needed).
If this is an upgrade or your phone was not activated after purchase, refer to activate a new iPhone.
If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.
