Set Up Fall Detection for AppleEasily configure fall detection and location sharing on your Apple® Watch® using the Verizon Family app to ensure help is always ready.
Before you begin
To use Fall Detection with 24/7 Assist, ensure Verizon Family 24/7 Assist is set up on your paired smartphone. A subscription to Verizon Family Plus is required to use 24/7 Assist.
If 24/7 Assist is turned off, Fall Detection will not send notifications to 24/7 assist.
Install the Verizon Family app on your Apple smartwatch then enable location sharing.
Steps
- To enable Fall Detection in the native watch settings and the Verizon Family watch app, do the following:Fall Detection must be enabled in both, the watch and the Verizon Family watch app.
- To enable Fall Detection through watch settings:
- Press theCrown buttonon the right side of the watch.
- Open theSettings app.
- TapSOS.
- TapFall Detection.
- Tap theFall Detection switchto turn on.
- To enable Fall Detection in the Verizon Family app:
- From your smartwatch, open theVerizon Family Watch app.
- From the 24/7 Assist screen, tapSet uplocated below Fall Detection.
- To continue, tapReviewto access and update your Health data.
- Tap theAll Requested Data Below switchto turn on the following permissions then tapNext.

- To share fall detection with Verizon Family, review the info then tapShare Data.If Don't Share Data is selected, Fall Detection will not work with 24/7 Assist.
