Set Up Fall Detection for Android

Easily configure fall detection and location sharing on your Android™ smartwatch using the Verizon Family app to ensure help is always ready.

Before you begin

To use Fall Detection with 24/7 Assist, ensure Verizon Family with 24/7 Assist is set up on your paired smartphone. A subscription to Verizon Family Plus is required to use 24/7 Assist.
If 24/7 Assist is turned off, Fall Detection will not send notifications to 24/7 assist.
Install the Verizon Family app on your Android smartwatch then enable location sharing.

Steps

  1. To enable Fall Detection in the native watch settings and the Verizon Family watch app, do the following:
    Fall Detection must be enabled in both the watch and the Verizon Family watch app.
    • To enable Fall Detection on Pixel watches:
      1. Press the
        Crown button
         on the right side of the device.
      2. Tap
        Personal Safety
        .
      3. Tap
        Fall detection
        .
      4. Tap the
        Use fall detection switch
         to turn on.
    • To enable Fall Detection on Galaxy watches:
      1. Open the
        Settings app
         on your watch.
      2. Tap
        Safety and emergency
        .
      3. Tap
        Hard fall detection
        .
      4. Tap the
        Hard fall detection switch
         to turn on.
    • To enable Fall Detection through the Verizon Family watch app:
      1. On your smartwatch, open the
        Verizon Family Watch app
        .
      2. From the 24/7 Assist screen, tap
        Set up
         located below Fall detection.
      3. Allow Verizon Family access to physical activity by tapping
        Allow
        .
        If Don't allow is selected, 24/7 Assist will not work with Fall Detection.
