Yes, an answering machine is compatible with Voice Connect. If you have signed up for voicemail as part of your Voice Connect service, you should set the answering machine to five rings, so that it picks up the call before Voice Connect voicemail engages.

Note: For an incoming call, the caller will hear five rings before reaching your voicemail greeting. This is a system setting and cannot be changed.

The Verizon Voice Link device uses three AA batteries.

To test the current battery power level, unplug the power cord and wait 10 seconds:

• If the battery indicator is solid red or blinking red, your batteries need to be replaced

To replace the batteries:

• Unplug the AC power and phone cords from the device
• Remove the device from the mounting bracket
• Lift the battery compartment cover
• Remove the old batteries and insert three new AA batteries

You should test and replace your batteries regularly. You should keep extra batteries on hand to make and receive calls, including 911 calls in case of a power outage.

Yes, in case of an emergency, you would dial 911. The device that was professionally installed in your home will identify your address for the 911 systems and operator. It is critical that you NEVER remove the device from your service location.

Enter the keys # # 5 6 * n # to set the TTY mode. Select the ‘n’ value from the list below:

n=0: TTY off mode. The standard voice speaking mode and the listening mode. This is the default setting.

n=1: TTY full mode. Transmit and receive the TTY characters.

n=2: VCO mode. Receive TTYthe speaker.

n=3: HCO mode. Transmit TTY characters but receive by listening to the receiver.
