Entering a new WEP encryption key
  1. When the router home page displays, click Wireless in the top menu bar.

  2. Click Basic Security Settings in the left navigation panel. [Show Me]

  3. To change your WEP encryption settings, confirm that WEP security is selected in Section 4. [Show Me]

  4. Take a minute to consider the amount and type of personal data you have on your network. Select 64/40 bit or 128/104 bit in the WEP Key Length field to provide the level of protection you think you need.

  5. Verizon 9100VM WEP settings

  6. Enter your new WEP encryption key in the WEP Key field. The WEP key must be entered in Hex format, which means the WEP key can be any combination of the numbers 0-9 and the letters A-F. An example of a 64-bit WEP key in Hex format could be 4A8BE34558.

  7. Review your security settings in the Current Wireless Status section at the bottom of the screen. If everything is correct, write down your wireless settings and keep them in a safe place for future reference.  [Show Me]

  8. Click OK to save your new WEP encryption key.

  9. Close the Verizon 9100VM router Management Console.
