Turn off 'Find my iPhone' on your old phone before getting started.

Welcome to your new Apple iPhone 13 / Apple iPhone 13 mini / Apple iPhone 13 Pro / Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max. To turn it on, hold the right side button until the Apple logo appears and then release.

From the "Welcome" screen, slide up from the bottom of the screen to begin setup.

4 Language and RegionStep 4 Language and Region

Choose your language, then select your country or region.

Step 5 Quickstart

If your old iPhone is running iOS 11, bring your old phone near your new one and you will be signed in automatically.
 
Not sure of the OS version? No problem. Just tap Set Up Manually to continue.

Step 6 Connect to Wi-Fi

Tap the Wi-Fi network you want. Enter the network password and select Join.

7 Activate your new iPhoneStep 7 Activate your new iPhone

If prompted, please enter your Verizon PIN. If activation does not work the first time, press Try Again. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

Step 8 Data & Privacy

Apple only collects this information when needed to enable features, secure our services, or personalize your experience. Tap Continue.

9 Set up Face IDStep 9 Set up Face ID

With this feature, you can use face recognition to unlock your phone and make purchases. Tap Continue and follow the instructions or tap Set Up Later in Settings.

10 Create a passcodeStep 10 Create a passcode

Set a six-digit passcode to protect your data. You need a passcode to use features like Face ID and Apple Pay. If you'd like a four-digit passcode, custom passcode, or no passcode, tap Passcode Options.

11 Restore your phoneStep 11 Restore Your Phone

Select your backup option. If you did not complete a backup or want to transfer content later, select Don't Transfer Apps & Data.

Step 12 Sign in to your Apple account

Enter your Apple ID and password. This account is used to download new apps to be used on your phone and access any other features like iCloud.
 
Unsure what your Apple ID is or need to create one? Follow the links on your screen.

Step 13 Review Apple's Terms and Conditions

When you enter your Apple ID, you are shown the terms and conditions for review. Go through them and when ready, tap Agree.

14 Express SettingsStep 14 Express Settings

To set up your phone with the recommended settings, tap Continue. If you want to customize any of those choices, tap Customize Settings. If you tap Continue, the remaining steps may vary.

15 Keep your iPhone up to dateStep 15 Keep your iPhone up to date

To get the latest features, security and improvements by updating iOS automatically, tap Continue. If not, tap Install Updates Manually.

16 Location ServicesStep 16 Location Services

This allows Maps and other apps and services like Find My to gather and use data to indicate your approximate location. Tap Enable Location Services or Disable Location Services to continue.

17 Apple PayStep 17 Apple Pay

Use Apple Pay to send money to friends and make secure payments in apps. To add cards to Apple Pay using NFC, tap Continue. If not, tap Set Up Later in Wallet.

18 SiriStep 18 Siri

Siri lets you use your voice to complete various actions on your device and easily search the web. Tap Continue to set up now or tap Set Up Later in settings. If you want to set up now, you will be asked to say a few phrases to help with voice recognition.

19 Screen TimeStep 19 Screen Time

To receive weekly reports about your screen time and set time limits for apps you want to manage, tap Continue or Set Up Later in Settings.

20 iPhone AnalyticsStep 20 iPhone Analytics

Tap About Device Analytics & Privacy to learn more. If you want to enroll, tap Share with Apple and if not, tap Don’t Share.

21 AppearanceStep 21 Appearance

Select a light or dark appearance for your iPhone, then tap Continue.

22 Display ZoomStep 22 Display Zoom

Select a Standard or Zoomed view for your iPhone, then tap Continue.
