Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse / Galaxy J3 Mission - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, timeout settings, etc.) on your Galaxy J3 Eclipse / Galaxy J3 Mission.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap the
    Menu icon
    menu icon.
  4. Tap
    Configure Mobile Hotspot
    .
  5. From the Configure Mobile Hotspot screen, modify any of the the following:
    • Network name (SSID)
    • Hide my device
    • Security (None or WPA2 PSK)
    • Password
      The new password must be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        Save
        .
    • Tap
      Show advanced options
      to configure the following:
      • Broadcast Channel (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)
      • Tap the 'Auto'
        dropdown menu
        Drop down icon to select the number of hotspot users (1-8).
  6. Tap
    SAVE
    .
  7. Tap
    Allowed devices only
    to turn on or off.
    1. Tap
      Add
      .
    2. Enter the Device name and MAC address then tap
      Add
      .
    3. Repeat steps as necessary. When finished, tap the
      Back icon
      Back icon.
  8. Tap
    Timeout settings
    then select the preferred option (e.g., Never timeout, 5 mins, 10 mins, etc.).
  9. Tap the
    Back icon
    Back icon.
