moto g6 - Add a Virtual Private Network

Here's how to add a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to your moto g6 to encrypt your internet traffic and protect your online identity via a secured remote server.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & Internet
    Advanced
    VPN
    .
  3. Tap the
    Add icon
     Add icon.
  4. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap
    OK
    .
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  5. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
    Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.
  6. Tap the 'Type field'
    dropdown menu
     Dropdown menu icon then select the VPN type.
  7. Enter the appropriate info into the applicable fields then tap
    SAVE
    .
    If applicable, tap
    Show advanced options
     to configure the following, which vary depending upon the selected VPN type:
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
    • Username
    • Password
