Samsung Galaxy A50 - Set Up SOS Messages

Here's how to set up SOS messages on your Galaxy A50 for use in an emergency situation.
  • In any emergency situation, you can send a message to an emergency contact by quickly pressing the power key 3 times.
  • A notice of your approximate location is sent to the mobile phone of a selected contact.
  • Up to 4 emergency contacts can be registered on the device.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Advanced features
    Send SOS messages
    .
  3. Tap the
    switch
    to turn on.
  4. Review the 'SOS messages' then tap
    Continue
    .
  5. From the 'Permissions for Send SOS Messages' screen, tap
    Start
    .
  6. From the 'Add recipient' message, do one of the following:
    An emergency contact must be created for SOS messages to turn on.
    • To create a new emergency contact:
      1. Tap
        Create contact
        .
      2. Enter a name and a 10-digit number.
      3. Tap
        Save
        .
    • To use an existing contact for the emergency contact:
      1. Tap
        Select from contacts
        .
      2. Tap (check) the desired contact(s).
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
  7. Tap the
    Back icon
    Back icon to return to the 'Send SOS messages' screen.
    To change the emergency contact later, tap
    Send message to
    from the 'Send SOS messages' screen then tap 'Add' or 'Delete'.
  8. Tap
    Attach pictures
    to turn on or off.
    The message includes a snapshot taken by the front and rear camera.
  9. Tap
    Attach audio recording
    to turn on or off.
    The message includes a 5-second audio recording.
