Connected Car Wi-Fi (Volkswagen) - Change the Wi-Fi Hotspot Password

Here's how to change the hotspot password for your Volkswagen in-car Wi-Fi service.
For vehicles equipped with MIB3 Infotainment system or ID.4 vehicles, Wi-Fi settings are only accessible through the Infotainment screen.
  • To access Wi-Fi settings, navigate:
    Menu
    Settings
    Wi-Fi
    Infotainment system as hotspot
    .
  • From Wi-Fi settings, SSID and Passphrase can be updated and Hotspot turned on/off.
  1. Open the myVW app.
    Ensure your vehicle is connected to a Wi-Fi capable device (e.g., phone, tablet, PC).
  2. Tap the
    Account icon
     Account icon (bottom-right).
  3. Tap
    Vehicle Management
    .
  4. Tap the desired vehicle.
  5. Tap
    Wi-Fi Settings
    .
  6. Tap
    SSID & Passphrase
    .
  7. Tap
    Current Passphrase
    .
  8. Enter the new passphrase.
  9. Tap
    Done
     (upper-right).
