Turn on the hotspot feature for your BMW in-car Wi-Fi to share mobile data with other devices. Set up the network name, password and security type to enhance security.

Before you begin

Activation of your Personal eSIM is required before accessing the Wi-Fi hotspot settings screen.

Steps

  1. From the vehicle's head unit, tap
    Menu

  2. Tap
    All apps
    .
  3. Tap
    Personal Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap
    Settings
    .
  5. Select any of the following to view or change settings:
    • Wi-Fi
      : Tap
      Internet access for mobile devices
       to turn Wi-Fi on or off.
    • SSID / Wi-Fi Name
      : Sets the network name for compatible devices to select when connecting to your in-car Wi-Fi.
    • Password
      : Sets a password for connecting to the in-car Wi-Fi.
