Turn Android Device Protection On / OffAndroid™ Device Protection helps keep your moto g 5G safe, but should be turned off before resetting, trading or selling it.
Before you begin
Android Device Protection (Kill Switch) prevents unauthorized use of your device by requiring your Gmail™ address and password to be entered before the device can be set up if it's reset using the alternate reset method.
When a trusted reset is performed, device protection isn't enabled.
Steps
- Review the following:
- If you have a Google™ (Gmail) account on your smartphone, device protection is automatically turned on. If needed, you can add a Google account.
- To turn off device protection, remove all Google accounts from the device.
