The Verizon Visa® Credit Card and The Verizon Visa Signature® Credit Card Rewards Program Terms and Conditions

By applying for and opening a Verizon Visa Credit Card or Verizon Visa Signature Credit Card account (each, a "credit card account"), you agree to be automatically enrolled in the Verizon Visa Card Rewards Program ("Rewards Program") and are accepting these terms and conditions ("Rewards Terms").

  1. General. The Rewards Program allows you to earn rewards (referred to as "Verizon Dollars" or "rewards") on purchases made with your credit card account. In these Reward Terms, "you" and "your" means the card holder. "We," "our" and "us" means Verizon. "Bank" means Synchrony Bank or its assignees. The Rewards Program is managed, provided and operated by Verizon.
  2. Eligibility. As provided above, you will automatically be enrolled in the Rewards Program when the Bank opens your credit card account. We or Bank may revoke participation in the Rewards Program at any time for any reason.
  3. Earning Verizon Dollars. You will earn Verizon Dollars for every purchase of goods and/or services made by you or any authorized user on your credit card account, minus any returns, refunds or credit adjustments (each a "Net New Purchase"). The earned amount, per transaction, will be rounded to the nearest penny.
    • 4% in Verizon Dollars for every Net New Purchase of gas. Gas purchases include purchases of fuel at gas stations identified as "Service Stations" or "Automated Fuel Dispensers". Gas stations do not include merchants of aviation or other non-automotive fuels.
    • 4% in Verizon Dollars for every Net New Purchase of groceries. Grocery purchases include purchases made at grocery stores and supermarkets.
    • 3% in Verizon Dollars for every Net New Purchase made at restaurants. Restaurants are generally identified as restaurants, drinking places, fast food places and caterers.
    • 2% in Verizon Dollars for every Net New Purchase made at a Verizon operated store, Verizon online, over the phone with a Verizon representative or at an exclusive Verizon Authorized Retailer. Verizon purchases include purchases of devices, accessories and the payment of your Verizon Wireless bill and/or Verizon Fios bill.
    • 1% in Verizon Dollars for all other Net New Purchases made on your credit card account everywhere else Visa is accepted, including any "big box" retailers such as Walmart or Best Buy that offer Verizon services.

There is no limit on earning Verizon Dollars for any of the Net New Purchases listed above.

Every credit card account associated with the same Verizon Wireless account will accrue earned Verizon Dollars into a shared digital wallet.

The percentage in Verizon Dollars earned on Net New Purchases is determined by the merchant category code ("MCC") associated with the purchase. The MCC code is a four-digit classification code that is assigned to a merchant by the merchant's payment card network or merchant processor based on the predominant business activity of the merchant (i.e. Gas Station, Grocery Store, etc.). The merchant's MCC code will determine how a particular purchase qualifies to receive the percentage in Verizon Dollars. For example, a dining purchase at the cafe area of a department store may have an MCC identification as a type of merchant other than a dining establishment and therefore would not qualify as a dining purchase under these Reward Terms. Similarly, grocery purchases at Walmart, Target or other "big box" retailers may not qualify as grocery purchases. Neither Verizon, nor Bank assigns or has responsibility for the assignment of MCCs or evaluates what MCC should be assigned to a particular merchant. Bank reserves the right to determine, from time to time, which MCCs qualify for a particular category of purchases. Verizon and Bank are not responsible for awarding Verizon Dollars for purchases at merchants who do not accurately report transactions using the MCC codes described above.

Verizon Dollars are not earned on the following: unauthorized or fraudulent charges, the purchase of debt cancellation products, cash advances, balance transfers, interest or fees on your credit card account.

  4. Other Sources of Verizon Dollars. Verizon Dollars may be awarded to card holders through the Verizon Up Program (referred to as "Verizon Up") and/or the Verizon Mobile + Home Rewards program so long as the card holder is also a member of, and maintains membership in, either or both programs.

Starting at the time of credit card account approval, any Device Dollars rewards you have accrued as a member of Verizon Up and/or the Mobile + Home Rewards programs will be replaced with Verizon Dollars.

All Verizon Dollars, regardless of program source, are subject to the terms provided in these Rewards Terms and will accrue within the same shared digital wallet of Verizon Dollars earned on Net New Purchases.

Visit verizonwireless.com/support to learn more about these programs, including their terms and conditions and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
  5. Accessing Verizon Dollars. Earned Verizon Dollars will be stored in a digital wallet that can be accessed through My Verizon online and the Verizon mobile apps. Access to this digital wallet is based on Verizon Wireless Account Access Roles. According to these roles, you must be a Verizon Wireless Account Owner or Verizon Wireless Account Manager to access the digital wallet of Verizon Dollars. You do not have to be a card holder to access Verizon Dollars.

If your Verizon Wireless account access role changes, your access to the digital wallet of Verizon Dollars may be affected. For example, if you are no longer a Verizon Wireless Account Owner or Verizon Wireless Account Manager, you will not be permitted to access the digital wallet of Verizon Dollars, even if you are a card holder.

    Visit myaccount.verizonwireless.com/accessmanager to learn more.

Accrued Verizon Dollars will also be posted to your monthly credit card billing statement within 1-2 credit card billing cycles.
  6. Redeeming Verizon Dollars. According to Verizon Wireless Account Access Roles, you must be a Verizon Wireless Account Owner or Verizon Wireless Account Manager to redeem Verizon Dollars. However, you do not have to be a card holder to redeem Verizon Dollars. Once Verizon Dollars are redeemed, your balance of Verizon Dollars will be reduced by the number of Verizon Dollars you redeemed.

The following redemption options are available:

    At a Verizon operated store:
    • The payment of a Verizon Wireless bill.
    • The purchase of a device, including the use of Verizon Dollars toward the down payment or buyout of a device payment agreement.
    • The payment of a remaining balance on a device payment agreement for a wireless device eligible for an annual upgrade.
    • The purchase of an accessory.

    Through Verizon online:

    • The payment of a Verizon Wireless or Verizon Fios bill.
    • The purchase of a device, including the use of Verizon Dollars toward the down payment or buyout of a device payment agreement.
    • The payment of a remaining balance on a device payment agreement for a wireless device eligible for an annual upgrade.
    • The purchase of an accessory.

Over the phone with a Verizon representative:

    • The payment of a Verizon Wireless bill.
    • The purchase of a device, including the use of Verizon Dollars toward the down payment or buyout of a device payment agreement.
    • The payment of a remaining balance on a device payment agreement for a wireless device eligible for an annual upgrade.
    • The purchase of an accessory.

    At exclusive Verizon Authorized Retailers:

    • The down payment of a device payment agreement.
Verizon Dollars have no cash value and are issued for reward purposes only and cannot be purchased, sold, transferred, redeemed for cash or Verizon gift cards, or used for security deposits for Verizon Wireless or Verizon Fios account services.
  7. Verizon Dollar Reimbursement. Verizon Dollars used toward a purchase that is later returned or exchanged will be reimbursed in the form of Verizon Dollars as long as there is an open credit card account associated with the Verizon Wireless account. If no credit card account exists, the Verizon Dollars will be forfeited.
  8. Forfeiting Verizon Dollars. Verizon Dollars earned through credit card purchases and/or awarded through Verizon Up and the Verizon Mobile + Home Rewards program are subject to the following forfeiture rules:
    • Inactivity. If there is no Rewards Program activity for twenty-four (24) consecutive calendar months, you will forfeit any unused Verizon Dollars. "Rewards Program activity" means credit card purchases, credit card account bill payment, or the redemption of Verizon Dollars.
    • Credit Card Closure. If you no longer have a credit card account associated with your Verizon Wireless account, your Verizon Dollars will remain active for ninety (90) consecutive calendar days. This time period begins when the last remaining credit card account associated with the Verizon Wireless account is closed.

During these 90 days, you will:
      • Have the ability to redeem Verizon Dollars.
      • Continue to be awarded Verizon Dollars through the Verizon Up and/or Mobile + Home Rewards programs.
Any unused Verizon Dollars will be forfeited after this ninety (90) day period.
    • Verizon Wireless Account Cancellation. If you cancel the last remaining wireless line on your Verizon Wireless account, your Verizon Dollars will be immediately forfeited.

Changing the Verizon Wireless Account Owner associated with your Verizon Wireless account, including transferring your service, is considered a cancellation of Verizon Wireless services. Therefore, your Verizon Dollars will be immediately forfeited.
    • Verizon Wireless Account Changes. If you move the Verizon Wireless line of service associated with your credit card account to a new or different Verizon Wireless account, your Verizon Dollars balance will remain with the original Verizon Wireless account. All Verizon Dollars earned in the future will be issued to the new Verizon Wireless account starting with the activation of the new Verizon Wireless account or line.

You will not be entitled to and will not receive any compensation from us or the Bank for any forfeited Verizon Dollars.
  9. Integration with the Verizon Up Program: By applying for and opening a credit card account, you agree to be automatically enrolled in the Verizon Up Program or any alternative or successor Verizon loyalty or rewards program for which you may be eligible for membership ("Other Program"). If there are any conflicts between these Reward Terms and either the Verizon Up Program or the Other Program terms, these Reward Terms will govern.

    Visit verizonwireless.com/support/verizon-up-legal/ to learn more.
    • Device Dollars Conversion to Verizon Dollars. As a Verizon Up member, your balance of accrued Device Dollars that are unused at the time of credit card account approval will be converted to Verizon Dollars. If a code has already been generated for any Device Dollars at the time of conversion, those Device Dollars will not be converted to Verizon Dollars even if that code hasn’t yet been redeemed and/or has not yet expired. However, the code may still be redeemed until its expiration date.
    • Cancelling Your Verizon Up or Other Program Membership. So long as you are a card holder, you are not permitted to cancel your Verizon Up or Other Program membership.

We may at any time and for any reason change, limit or terminate any aspect of the Verizon Card Rewards Program or these Reward Terms. Changes may apply retroactively and may affect outstanding transactions and Verizon Dollars.

Any other rewards or loyalty program is governed by terms of that program unless stated otherwise above.

Additional Card Holder Benefits

  1. New Card Holder Offer. Receive up to $100 promotional (promo) credit per credit card account, when paying a Verizon Wireless or Verizon Fios bill with either a Verizon Visa Card or by redeeming Verizon Dollars to pay the total bill amount. Promo credit is applied to your Verizon Wireless bill over a period of twenty-four (24) consecutive bill cycles, equaling a credit of $4.17 per bill. The period begins within 1-2 billing cycles after the credit card account approval.

The credit will be applied only if and when the bill payment requirements are met for each billing cycle. In the event that bill payment requirements are not met, no credit will be applied to the next applicable bill cycle.
  2. TravelPass Offer. You are eligible for two (2) single-day-use TravelPass days at the time of credit card account approval. One offer (two TravelPass days) per credit card account per calendar year.

TravelPass days will be awarded on the first calendar day of each year. TravelPass days must be used within the same calendar year they are provided. TravelPass days do not roll over to the following calendar year and will be forfeited if not used by close of the calendar year.

TravelPass eligibility rules apply. Price plans that are ineligible to redeem the TravelPass Offer include any grandfathered/legacy plans, as well as the Above Unlimited plan. Devices that are ineligible include 3G devices, 4G non-GSM devices and connected devices (including watches). TravelPass days awarded within this Rewards Program have no cash value and are issued for reward purposes only and cannot be purchased, sold, transferred or redeemed for cash.
