    Wireless Home Phone T2000 is an analog telephone adapter that provides you with high-quality, home phone service using our wireless network. Simply plug your existing home telephone into the Wireless Home Phone T2000 unit, complete the over-the-air service activation (*228), and make calls. You also have the option of keeping your existing home phone number.

    Wireless Home Phone T2000 is no longer available for purchase. Today you can purchase a Wireless Home Phone LVP2.

    Note: Wireless Home Phone T2000 includes calling to any US number.

  3. Where can I use Wireless Home Phone T2000?

    Wireless Home Phone T2000 is designed to operate anywhere within our coverage area and should provide coverage at your location that's consistent with your current Verizon Wireless device experience.

    While the Verizon Wireless coverage map indicates expected coverage, you'll need to assess whether the actual coverage at your location is acceptable to you.

    The coverage areas shown don't guarantee service availability and may include locations with limited or no coverage. Even within a coverage area, many factors, including your equipment, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather, may impact service. Some coverage areas include networks run by other carriers. The coverage depicted for these areas is based on the carriers' information and public sources, so we can't ensure its accuracy.

  5. Can I use my telephone answering machine instead of my Verizon Wireless voicemail with Wireless Home Phone T2000?

    Yes, you can use your answering machine with Wireless Home Phone T2000. Set the answering machine to fewer rings than your current mobile device's setting so that it picks up the call before Verizon Wireless voicemail engages. Alternatively, if you would like to use your voicemail, either turn off your home answering machine or increase the number of rings at which it's set to pick up the call. For instructions on adjusting the ring settings for your home answering machine, refer to the User Guide provided by the manufacturer.

  6. Is Wireless Home Phone T2000 compatible with my fax machine?

    No, the Verizon Wireless network doesn’t support incoming or outgoing fax services.

  7. Does Wireless Home Phone T2000 work during a power outage?

    Yes, the device has a backup battery. However, if your home phone has to be plugged in to an outlet, service (including the ability to make and receive 911 calls) won't be available during a power outage.

  8. Can I call 911 with Wireless Home Phone T2000?

    Yes, 911 functions similarly to the way it would on your Verizon Wireless mobile device. Like your mobile phone, Wireless Home Phone T2000 has a GPS receiver embedded in it that works best when it's located near a window or other opening. When you make emergency calls to 911 from indoor environments, you'll need to provide your location within the property.

  9. Can I make international calls with Wireless Home Phone T2000?

    Yes, you can make international calls with Wireless Home Phone. To do this, you'll need the International Long Distance feature on your account. To add this feature, visit our International Travel Plans page. Alternatively, you may use an international calling card which will use airtime minutes.

  10. How do I transfer my current home phone number to Wireless Home Phone T2000?

    You'll need to complete the process for the number you want to transfer. Refer to our Port Your Number to Verizon FAQs for details.

  11. Is Wireless Home Phone T2000 compatible with any other devices that connect to a phone line?

    No, Wireless Home Phone T2000 isn't compatible with home security systems, fax machines, DVR services, credit card machines or medical alert services (e.g., Life Alert). HSI/DSL may or may not be available; contact your service provider to determine if this product is available as a standalone offering.

  12. Can Wireless Home Phone T2000 work with TTY (hearing-impaired) devices?

    Yes. Wireless Home Phone T2000 can be set to TTY mode following these instructions (found in the User Manual):
    Enter the keys # # 5 6 * X # to set the TTY mode.

    • X=0: TTY off mode. The standard voice speaking mode and the listening mode. This is the default setting.
    • X=1: TTY full mode. Transmit and receive the TTY characters.
    • X=2: VCO mode. Receive TTY characters but transmit by speaking into the speaker.
    • X=3: HCO mode. Transmit TTY characters but receive by listening to the receiver.

    For example, for full TTY mode you would enter: # # 5 6 * 1 #

    Talk time is 2 hours, and standby time is 36 hours. However, actual values vary with the network environment.

  5. Will all of my home extension phones work with the Wireless Home Phone T2000 service?

    The following home phone setups will work with Wireless Home Phone T2000:

    • Cordless extension phones that receive signal from a cordless base station connected to the Wireless Home Phone T2000 adaptor
    • Corded phones connected directly to the Wireless Home Phone T2000 device

    There are 2 telephone ports on the back of the Wireless Home Phone T2000 device, allowing a combination of corded and cordless phones to be used.

    Note: Don't plug the Wireless Home Phone T2000 device directly into your telephone wall jack. This configuration isn't supported unless you have taken steps to disconnect the landline wires coming into your home.
