Answers to your questions.
To verify if your phone is unlocked, visit the Tell us about your device page and follow the prompts. We’ll help you determine if your device is unlocked and compatible with the Verizon network. If it is, we will guide you through the rest of the steps to bring your device to Verizon.
You’ll be asked to provide the following info:
- Type of device
- Model name/number
- Place of purchase
- IMEI
During the process you’ll have the option to order a new Verizon SIM card at no charge (if you need one) and sign up for device protection.
If you are not a Verizon customer you can find your IMEI on your device:
- Android devices: Settings > About Phone.
- iOS devices: Settings > General > About.
- Basic Phones: Tools & Settings > About Phone > Status
If you are a Verizon customer:
- Go to the My Devices page in the My Verizon website or app.
- Tap or click Manage Device next to the device you want to view. Your Device ID and IMEI are listed under the Device Information section.
If your device has a removable battery, the IMEI will also be located under the battery.
To find your serial number (ESN):
- Android devices: Settings > About Phone.
- iOS devices: Settings > General > About.
- Basic Phones: Tools & Settings > About Phone > Status
If your device has a removable battery the ESN will also be located under the battery.
These are all numbers used to identify your specific device. The ESN (Electronic serial number) is your device’s serial number. The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identifier) and MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifier) are similar to vehicle VIN numbers.
- ESN: Electronic serial number
- MEID: Mobile Equipment Identifier
- IMEI: International Mobile Equipment
