Wi-Fi Calling error message
If you are unable to successfully activate Wi-Fi Calling or update your E911 address, make sure you have a strong signal from the Verizon Wireless network. Even when Cellular is turned on, the device may sometimes lose signal. The Wi-Fi Calling feature can only be activated on a VZW Cellular network with Wi-Fi turned on due to the Federal E911 registration system.
What can I do?
Check your iPhone's service icon to confirm there is at least one bar of service.
- If you're not receiving Cellular service at the moment, check to make sure that Cellular Data is turned on and that Airplane Mode is off.
- If your signal is weak, move to a spot where it's stronger.
International Users
HD Voice and Wi-Fi calling must be activated on the Verizon Wireless network before you leave the country. The Federal E911 system does not register outside the US. You won't be able to turn on HD Voice or Wi-Fi calling outside the Verizon calling network (international).
