If your phone’s speaker isn’t working when you make a call:
- Check in your phone settings that Do not disturb or Airplane mode isn’t enabled.
- Check the call volume on your phone. To check, make a call and press the volume rocker on the side of your phone. Or, in your phone settings, set the voice call volume to maximum.
- Disconnect your phone from any Bluetooth device. When your phone is connected to a Bluetooth device (e.g., headphones, stand alone speaker) your phone sends the audio signals to the device’s speakers.
- Check that your phone has the latest software update.
Is your phone speaker’s audio not working except when you’re playing music, streaming etc.? Android users can check the speaker. Just visit this page to learn how to Test Device in Safe Mode.
Safe mode prevents third party apps from running on your Android phone. If the speaker works in Safe Mode it could be that an app you recently downloaded is causing the speaker problem. You can delete the app in your app settings.
