5G Nationwide and Ultra Wideband mobile networks FAQs

Verizon offers two types of 5G service: 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G Nationwide.

• 5G Ultra Wideband is Verizon's highest performing 5G. Our 5G Ultra Wideband network uses high band (mmWave) and mid-band (C-band) spectrum to deliver a top-of-the-line 5G experience. 5G Ultra Wideband provides game-changing benefits, like speeds up to 10 times faster than what you have now.
• 5G Nationwide is the everyday 5G available across the country. This service uses a low-band spectrum to provide great coverage with performance comparable to our award-winning 4G LTE, and it's only getting better over time.

By deploying both technologies together alongside 4G, we provide an excellent, reliable network experience around the US.

5G Nationwide is available in 2,700+ cities. In these areas, 5G-enabled devices show a 5G icon instead of a 4G LTE icon on the device screen.

When you're using data in an area not covered by 5G Nationwide, your device automatically shifts to our 4G LTE network.

All Verizon monthly mobile plans and prepaid plans include access to our 5G Nationwide network.

• This change doesn't affect your plan’s data amount. Your device still receives 4G LTE and, if you have a 5G-enabled device, can access the 5G Nationwide network when available.
• Depending on your plan, 5G Nationwide usage may count toward your monthly data and Mobile Hotspot allowances.
• Prepaid plans: Our current Prepaid phone and data-only plans include 5G Nationwide access. Our prepaid Unlimited Plus phone plan and 150 GB and 100 GB data-only plans include access to both 5G Nationwide and 5G Ultra Wideband. Learn more about prepaid plans and 5G.

5G Ultra Wideband Service is concentrated in the lower seating area but could be available in other locations in and around the stadium as well.

When you move outside Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband coverage area, the 5G-enabled devices hand off the signal to Verizon's 5G Nationwide or 4G LTE network. In some cities, the stadium will be the only place with Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband service, offering you a unique 5G experience you can't get anywhere else in your local area.

• Not just for phones. It can give your whole home or business fast internet even with lots of devices connected. Easy to set up and without the headaches of cable.
• Video and audio in HD. TT So you can stream video and video chat without Wi-Fi and with fewer frozen faces from your family or coworkers.
• Console-quality gaming on your phone. So you can game on the go with ultra low lag. TT

Note: When you’re not in a 5G Ultra Wideband coverage area, you may still get a great network experience with 5G Nationwide, in addition to our award-winning 4G LTE network.

• With our current Unlimited plans – 5G Get More, 5G Do More, 5G Play More, One Unlimited for iPhone.
  
• If you have these plans which are no longer available to add to your account – Get More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, Above Unlimited*, Beyond Unlimited.*
• If you bought a 5G Ultra Wideband add-on for an additional $10/month with your Unlimited plan.
• With the current $75 Prepaid Unlimited Plus plan.
