Dan Schulman
Chief Executive Officer of Verizon
Dan Schulman is a transformative and accomplished leader with a proven track record of success at large public companies. His experience is distinguished by a unique combination of financial and operational leadership roles, and deep expertise across the telecommunications, technology and financial sectors.
Dan had served on the Verizon Board of Directors since 2018 and was elected Lead Independent Director in December 2024 until being named CEO of Verizon in October 2025.
Prior to Verizon, Dan served for nine years as President & CEO of PayPal Holdings, Inc., where he led the company’s successful transformation to a global payments platform, tripling revenue from $8B to $30B, growing EPS five-fold and adding hundreds of millions of new customers to the PayPal platform across the globe.
Before his tenure at PayPal, Dan held senior leadership roles at numerous leading public companies, including AT&T, where he became the youngest member of its senior executive team; Priceline, where he grew annual revenues from $20 million to nearly $1 billion over two years; Virgin Mobile USA, where he successfully built a pre-paid cellphone business; and American Express, where he expanded global mobile and online payment services.
Corporate and charitable leadership
Complementing his expertise in technology and telecommunications, Dan has an extensive background in cybersecurity and risk management. For nearly 20 years, he served as a director of NortonLifeLock (formerly Symantec Corporation), a global leader in cybersecurity, including six years as independent chairman.
Dan is Chair of the Board of JUST Capital, Lead Independent Director of Lazard, Inc., and also serves as a board member for Cisco Systems and Cleveland Clinic.

Dan’s leadership has received numerous accolades, including ranking third on Fortune’s list of the World’s Greatest Leaders, three consecutive appearances on Fortune’s list of the Top 20 Businesspersons of the Year, Fast Company’s Top 100 Most Creative People, and Glassdoor’s Top 50 CEOs.
Dan earned a Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
