Verizon Home Internet customers have nearly 20 connected devices per household

Verizon released its second annual Consumer Connections Report, revealing how connectivity continues to influence and improve the ways we live, work, and play. The report offers insights into consumer trends across retail, entertainment, online and offline safety and home connectivity.

The report provides a comprehensive look at what our device habits say about us and the ways technology shapes our relationships, empowers families and enriches our daily experiences. These findings help us better understand consumer behavior to help inform and personalize our offerings.

Some highlights from the report:
- Family: Tumblr, Whisper, and Snapchat are the social media apps parents are most focused on.
- Home: Data use is rising, with average monthly usage up 6% YoY per Verizon Home Internet household. The average Verizon internet household has 18 connected devices.
- Sports: Average mobility usage per NFL game spikes 37% over last season. The highest game? Giants at Cowboys.
- Holidays: New Year’s Eve is the top holiday for phone calls.
