What you need to know:

  • Verizon to waive domestic call, text, and data usage for postpaid consumer and Verizon Small Business customers impacted by the storm in parts of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina from Sept. 28-Oct. 27, 2024.

ALPHARETTA, GA - In continued support of residents in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene, Verizon has extended and expanded its relief offer, which is the largest storm-related offer we’ve ever given our customers. Verizon will waive domestic call, text, and data usage from Sept. 28 to Oct. 27 for postpaid consumer and Verizon Small Business customers in the following counties:

Florida: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Calhoun, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Manatee, Marion, Nassau, Pasco, Pinellas, Putnam, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, Wakulla.

Georgia: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Banks, Barrow, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clarke, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Columbia, Cook, Coweta, Crisp, Decatur, Douglas, Echols, Effingham, Elbert, Emanuel, Evans, Franklin, Glascock, Glynn, Grady, Greene, Habersham, Hancock, Hart, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Lanier, Laurens, Liberty, Lincoln, Long, Lowndes, McDuffie, McIntosh, Mitchell, Morgan, Montgomery, Oglethorpe, Pierce, Rabun, Richmond, Screven, Stephens, Taliaferro, Tattnall, Telfair, Thomas, Tift, Toombs, Treutlen, Turner, Ware, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Wheeler, White, Wilkes, Worth.

North Carolina: Alexander, Alleghany, Anson, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Franklin, Gaston, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Jones, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Polk, Richmond, Rowan, Rutherford, Stanly, Swain, Transylvania, Union, Washington, Watauga, Wilkes, Yancey.

South Carolina: Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chester, Chesterfield, Clarendon, Colleton, Edgefield, Fairfield, Greenville, Greenwood, Hampton, Jasper, Kershaw, Lancaster, Laurens, Lee, Lexington, McCormick, Newberry, Oconee, Orangeburg, Pickens, Richland, Saluda, Spartanburg, Sumter, Union, Williamsburg, York.

Customers do not have to take any action to take advantage of the offer. Any overages for those whose billing cycles have already closed will be automatically credited back. No action is needed— overages will be automatically credited.*

"As our communities begin the difficult journey of rebuilding their lives following the catastrophic impact of Helene, Verizon remains steadfast in our commitment to support them every step of the way,” said Atlantic South Market President, Leigh Anne Lanier. “We understand the challenges our customers are facing, and by expanding our relief offer, we hope to provide some peace of mind as they focus on recovery. Our priority is to ensure they stay connected to their loved ones and the critical resources they need during this time of rebuilding and resilience."

While the redundancies and fortification built into the network withstood much of Helene’s fury, we are experiencing service impacts in parts of Florida, eastern Georgia, the Upstate of South Carolina, Western North Carolina, and the Eastern portion of Tennessee. We have seen improvements in Florida, although we continue to see network impacts due to flooding and commercial power loss along the coastline near Tampa, as well as a few areas in the northern part of the state between Tallahassee and Jacksonville. The core of key population centers in the eastern part of Georgia, such as Valdosta, Savannah, and Augusta, are beginning to see some recovery, thanks to restoration efforts and with existing overlapping coverage, customers who were impacted are beginning to see limited service available. In the Western Carolinas, we continue to see significant impact to the network, with historic flooding and damage in the area making access and recovery difficult.

This offer extends to all postpaid consumer and Verizon Small Business customers in the affected counties. No action is needed— overages will be automatically credited.*Verizon small business customers include customers with 50 lines or less.
