Collaborating at the cutting edge.
At Verizon’s 5G Labs we work with local innovators to grow the 5G ecosystem. Together, we explore the boundaries of 5G network technology, co-create new applications and hardware, and rethink what’s possible in a 5G world.
The NYC lab is already open for collaboration. And labs in Washington D.C., Waltham (MA), Palo Alto and Los Angeles are scheduled to open by the end of 2018.
5G technology ecosystem.
Creating an incubator for 5G.
At our 5G Labs, we partner with universities, startups and established companies to co-create 5G concepts and trial them on our pre-commercial 5G network. We explore use cases that will benefit from 5G's high speeds, massive bandwidth and ultra-low latency.
Sharing what we know.
Our Events & Programming arm hosts panels, fireside chats, executive roundtables, prototyping events and more. Through this programming we share our expertise while we learn along with the community.
Nurturing top talent.
We mentor promising innovators through a new-hire incubator called the Concept Studio. Teams tackle real-world challenges during a 6-month residency and focus on prototyping for 5G technologies.
Collaborating with academia.
Our University Program works with the best and brightest in academia to participate in capstone courses, sponsor research and inspire early stage product concepts.
Our 5G Labs not only showcase visionary ideas and commercial products, they provide a 5G network and all the technical resources needed to test and optimize products in a real-world environment. That way, our innovators can take them to market―faster.
Our new website will launch soon with more details.
Verizon Ventures seeks and invests in promising entrepreneurial companies that are tackling some of today's biggest challenges. Over the last decade we've worked with more than 40 companies covering a range of industries, technologies and market segments.
At Verizon, we don't wait for the future. We build it. That's why we built our own 5G technology to accelerate testing and drive the development of the worldwide 3GPP 5G standard.
And we continue to work with our technology partners to further advance 5G technology and reach important milestones on the path to full deployment in the lab and, most importantly, in the real world.
