Manage your prepaid account FAQs
You can manage your prepaid account through the My Verizon app on your prepaid phone or the My Verizon website.
If you're new to My Verizon, you'll need to register your prepaid account. This one-time process sets up your My Verizon account username and password:
- Open the My Verizon app on your prepaid device, or visit the My Verizon Registration page.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to sign up or register.
If the My Verizon app isn't already in your Apps menu, you can download it through your phone's app store:
- Android - Download from Google Play™ Store
- iPhone - Download from the Apple® App Store®
Go to My Verizon and sign in with your prepaid mobile number and My Verizon password.
- You may not be prompted to sign in every time you see the My Verizon app. Only certain transactions will prompt you to enter your passwrod.
- For security, you may be asked to answer your security question when signing in on an unregistered device.
Signing out can help protect your account from unauthorized use.
In the My Verizon app:
- Tap the Menu icon (3 lines) in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Tap Sign Out.
- Tap Sign Out again.
You've successfully signed out of the My Verizon app.
You can change your My Verizon security information for your prepaid account including:
- Your 4-digit PIN – Account Security code.
- Your security question.
- Your User ID and password.
Keeping your app updated helps ensure you're accessing the latest account management and security features.
You should receive a notification from the app store on your device when your My Verizon app has an update available. You can tap on that notification and follow the on-screen prompts to update the app.
Setting your device language to Spanish (Español) – United States, allows the My Verizon app to display automatically in Spanish.
Other versions of Spanish aren't currently supported by My Verizon. You'll receive an error message stating the app isn't available in Spanish if your device language is set to another version of Spanish.
If your device language is set to Spanish and the My Verizon app is still displaying in English, try the following:
- Sign out of the My Verizon app, and then sign in again.
- Make sure you have the latest version of the My Verizon app.
If your device is still not displaying the My Verizon app in Spanish:
- Go to the Troublehooting Assistant.
- Type in your device in Search for a device.
- Select Troubleshoot on the device tile.
- Type “language” in the gray search box.
- Select the “How To - “Select or change language article.”
- Make sure your device language is set to the United States Spanish, not another version of Spanish.
There are a few ways to your Verizon prepaid account:
- Monitor and view your usage in My Verizon.
- Call #DATA from your prepaid phone to check your data use.
Good to know: You can also get your account balance in My Verizon or by calling #BAL.
You can change your prepaid device in My Verizon.
Good to know: You can also purchase a new device for your prepaid line through My Verizon.
Many devices offer call and message blocks from within your Contact List. The steps to block a contact will vary by device.
For instructions on your device:
- Visit our device Troubleshooting Assistant.
- Choose your device and tap Troubleshoot.
- Search for how to block a number.
You can change your voicemail password in My Verizon.
Verizon Cloud isn't included, but you can add Verizon Cloud in My Verizon through the manage add-ons menu.

Good to know: You can change your number up to 3 times in one day and a maximum of 5 times in a 30-day period.
You can change your prepaid plan any time in My Verizon.
Good to know:
- You can’t carry over minutes or data allowances when you change your monthly prepaid plan.
- We suggest you make the change close to your renewal date.
You can find your current Verizon Prepaid plan details in My Verizon once you register.
Discounts or promotions from your old plan may not transfer to your new plan.
We encourage you to regularly compare your current plan with the new available plans. A new plan offers a better value than what you currently have.
You can add and remove Prepaid Add-ons in My Verizon.
You can change your contact information on the Manage account settings section in My Verizon. On the Contact Information page, you can change your mailing address, email address and alternate phone number.
There are a few options available if you want to cancel:
- Visit your My Verizon account.
- Select Manage line(s) and select the Remove a line option.
- Allow your account funds to run out. Your prepaid service cancels itself by the 61st day of your inactive status if additional funds aren’t added.
- Make sure your Auto Pay is turned off.
- Visit a Verizon store.
- Contact customer care at 888-294-6804.
Yes, you can move your Verizon prepaid phone to a different wireless carrier.
