  • Is Verizon Cloud secure and protected?

  • Yes, Verizon Cloud is secure and protected. By saving files to Verizon Cloud, you can back up your data, providing an extra layer of protection against computer failure or infection from computer viruses. In fact, you can schedule automatic data backups to help guard against data loss.

Encryption technology is embedded into all transactions, to ensure that all your data is safe and secure.

  • Why does my first backup take so long?

  • The online backup feature copies the files you have selected from your computer into you online cloud storage account, and during your initial backup, a large quantity of information is being passed. Keep in mind, initial backups may take more time depending on your connection speed and, ultimately, the speed with which you can upload files. You must also account for high volumes of traffic on the network (which might also slow your backup) and possible network outages. Ensure you leave your computer on with an active internet connection during the backup process.

Subsequent backups occur only when and if you schedule them. Only files that have changed or been added since your last scheduled backup will be copied.

If your initial backup takes a long period of time, this may be due to one of the following reasons:

    • A scheduled backup may have initiated before your initial backup is complete
    • You have lost your internet connection
    • You are actively using your computer and other software applications are slowing the backup process
  • Can I use Verizon Cloud with my Smartphone or Tablet?

  • Yes, the Verizon Cloud mobile app allows you to access, view, stream from your supported Smartphone or Tablet. You can even set the option to automatically upload the photos, videos and contacts directly to the cloud freeing up needed space on your device. To check if your device is supported, see our list of supported devices at verizonwireless.com/cloud.
