F.N.B. Corporation Selects WorldCom to Host, Manage and Streamline Diversified Web Operations

WorldCom Leverages Wholly-Owned Network & Digex Affiliation to Deliver Hosting Expertise, Secure Reliability, Cost Savings to Financial Services Firm

CLINTON, Miss., April 8, 2002 - WorldCom (NASDAQ: WCOM), the leading global business data and Internet communications provider, today announced that F.N.B. Corporation (NASDAQ: FBAN), a $6.7 billion diversified financial services company, has selected WorldCom to host, manage and streamline its expanding, multifaceted Web operations.

The largest bank holding company headquartered in Florida, F.N.B. Corporation serves banking, trust, insurance and consumer finance customers through community banking affiliates and other financial services companies. The company has full-service offices located in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Tennessee.

F.N.B. Corporation is consolidating the hosting and management of more than 20 financial services Web sites through an outsourcing agreement with WorldCom. With the support of its managed Web and application hosting affiliate Digex (NASDAQ: DIGX), WorldCom is significantly reducing F.N.B.'s total cost of Web operations by eliminating the capital expenditures of an in-house hosting management strategy. At the same time, F.N.B. is ensuring its online business continuity by safeguarding its Web servers in a secure off-site Internet data center with 24x7 performance monitoring, expert support and fast, reliable, scalable bandwidth connections to the WorldCom facilities-based global network. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"We are relying on WorldCom's technical expertise to take us to the next level of online financial services," said Steven Powell, executive vice president and chief technology officer of F.N.B. Corporation. "It simply is not cost effective for us to hire and train an in-house technical staff to support and maintain our Web sites. WorldCom has the specialized talent to support our needs now and in the future as we grow and enhance our online presence."

To streamline F.N.B. customer access to all of its Web sites, WorldCom has deployed "FNB Online" (www.fnb-online.com) a new Web portal that allows users to quickly locate and easily connect with any of F.N.B.'s affiliated banking, trust, insurance and consumer finance Web sites anytime, anywhere. And, WorldCom has enabled all F.N.B. community banks to offer their customers secure Internet banking and portfolio management services - providing e-statements, check images, fund transfers, electronic bill payment, real time rate quotes, financial calculators, branch location maps and more.

"WorldCom is committed to supporting the unique Web hosting requirements of F.N.B. Corporation and the entire financial services industry," said Greg Moore, vice president of WorldCom Global Managed Services. "Like F.N.B. Corporation, financial services providers demand the highest levels of security and up-time availability to ensure that their customers have safe, secure, round-the-clock access to their accounts. That is what WorldCom delivers every day, with maximum performance, reliability and total cost of ownership control."

WorldCom offers Web hosting solutions to meet every customer's need from Web server colocation to shared, dedicated and custom managed hosting services. WorldCom's suite of global Web hosting services run over the company's facilities-based network, through its state-of-the-art data centers located across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific. Web hosting services are part of the full continuum of advanced data communications solutions WorldCom provides to business customers around the world.
