Oracle Software Partners with Verizon: Oracle Joins Verizon's Executive Panel Session at Interop Las Vegas

Editor’s Note: Joe Rayman is Vice President of Technology and Strategy at Oracle. This is the second in a series of articles written by the participants on Verizon’s Enterprise Cloud Ecosystem panel at Interop Las Vegas on April 2, 2014 at 4pm. Read the first article in the series, Hybrid Cloud Partners.

In case you missed it, Oracle and Verizon Enterprise Solutions recently announced they had formed a new relationship to provide customers with more choice and flexibility when deploying Oracle software in the cloud. Verizon will offer Oracle Database and Oracle Fusion Middleware on the Verizon Terremark Enterprise Cloud, Verizon Managed Hosting, and the new Verizon Cloud, which is currently in beta. Customers will be able to pay-as-they-go for Oracle software and choose from either monthly or hourly subscription pricing with the security and reliability of deploying on Verizon’s proven, enterprise-class cloud infrastructure. You can get all of the details about the relationship from the following FAQ.

Next week, I’ll be joining John Considine (CTO, Verizon Terremark) and several other industry executives at Interop Las Vegas for an executive panel (April 2nd @ 4pm, Interop session #VT34) on enterprise cloud ecosystems and strategies. We’ll be having an open and interactive discussion about what our companies are doing together, as well each company’s strategy and vision for the cloud and Oracle software.

As a veteran of technology industry and having been around the block, I’m still impressed when market leaders in their respective industries, such as Oracle and Verizon, come together to create innovative solutions for customers. Even as competition amongst cloud technology and service providers continues to grow, few have the expertise and resources like Oracle and Verizon to develop an enterprise cloud ecosystem that helps drive innovation and fuel business growth. Such is the case with Oracle and Verizon working together to offer mission-critical Oracle software with Verizon’s enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.

I’ve personally witnessed the pace at which businesses operate steadily increase and seen business applications become more complex and resource intensive. I’ve spoken to a countless number of businesses that were either considering or already adopted cloud computing in order to accelerate application development and deployment cycles, eliminate complexity, and reduce infrastructure costs. I’m not surprised at all by the number of businesses turning to the cloud for all kinds of enterprise applications. Now with the availability of Oracle software on Verizon’s cloud infrastructure, businesses have even more choice in the way to gain the strategic, operational, and economic advantage of cloud computing. What’s not to like about that?

So if you’re fortunate enough to be attending Interop Las Vegas next week, I invite you to join me, John Considine, and other industry executives for our executive panel session. I’m certainly looking forward to it and I hope to see you there.
