This is a guest post from Eric Decker, who recently graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Eric has regularly demoed devices on campus and at home, putting the newest tech up to the test of an active college student.
I just graduated from college. Blood, sweat and tears went into that degree (OK, maybe not blood) and now it’s time to celebrate! Although finally getting that diploma was amazing, not much else has been sweeter than getting those graduation gifts!
I’ve mostly been getting checks, cash and a nice frame for my diploma. I’m having a party to celebrate my graduation in a couple of weeks, and honestly, I’m kind of hoping someone thinks outside of the box a little bit and gets me something technology related!
With that in mind, I’ve come up with some gift recommendations featuring products you can buy online or in store from Verizon Wireless.
Scouring through the Verizon Wireless website, I felt like an indecisive kid in a candy store trying to narrow down a list of things I would want (while also keeping in mind the typical recent graduate). It was a challenge, but like any research paper or exam to study for, I cranked it out and got the job done!
Here are eight great tech gift ideas for recent college graduates:
- Google Chromecast: For those recent grads who don’t feel like paying for cable just yet, the Chromecast easily streams video services like Netflix and YouTube to your television.
- Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker: I’ve demoed this product before, and this Bluetooth speaker is an affordable way for your grad to add some nice beats to a new place!
- mophie powerstation mini: For that recent grad who uses a smartphone or tablet more than you can comprehend, the mophie powerstation mini fits in a pocket and has plenty of color options.
- Beats Solo 2 On-Ear Headphone: When your recent grad needs to unwind a bit, these Beats headphones work nicely.
- iPlanet Bluetooth Selfie Stick: If your grad is one of those people who would rather take a selfie than ask a stranger to take a photo, help them step up their game with the iPlanet Selfie Stick! It even has four great color options.
- Bracketron Universal Dash Mount: For those gift-givers on a budget, this smartphone mount is perfect for using a smartphone as a GPS navigator hands-free!
- Jetpack MiFi 6620L: If you know your grad is going to be taking public transportation a lot in the real world, you can brighten up their morning (and late afternoon) commute every day with this portable personal hotspot!
- ZEPP Golf Swing Analyzer: For those college grads who will be going on company golf outings, the ZEPP swing analyzer attaches to a golf glove and works with your smartphone to help you fine-tune your golf swing.
There are so many great grad gift ideas for anyone who loves technology. The tech options are endless!
