NEW YORK - Verizon recently achieved ISO27001 certification for its Managed Network Solutions Operations group in Amsterdam that supports customers in Europe, Middle East and Asia.

“Achieving ISO27001 certification is a prestigious achievement for the managed network team that performs day-to-day management for more than 1,100 customers and 35,000 network devices,” said Andrew Fleming, executive director, client services and operations for Europe, Middle East and Asia. “Our customers can be confident that we meet the rigorous criteria of internationally-accepted standards while continuing to deliver a high level of performance.”

For more than 20 years, Managed Network Solutions Operations Amsterdam has offered secure delivery of advanced information technology including network support that ranges from monitoring and reporting to complete management of network operations and complex solutions. This group also recently received re-certification in ISO9001 accreditation.

By applying best practices and providing a means to measure and deliver quality to reduce inconsistencies, the ISO certification process strengthens the performance of Managed Network Solutions Operations. Using the internationally recognized standard for quality-management practices, ISO certification also confirms the company has implemented a systematic approach to organizational processes and procedures.

The ISO27001 certification is based on standards established by the International Organization for Standards and the International Electrotechnical Commission that mandate specific requirements be met and reviewed independently.

ISO27001 certification is valid for three years, with audits performed every year by a third party. UL-DQS, one of the world’s leading certification organizations, will perform these audits for Verizon.

Verizon has a global quality-management system built upon ISO 9001:2008 standards that provide guidelines for establishing and implementing quality policies for the company. The company has more than 50 different ISO-certified internal organizations.
