Donna leads Verizon’s responsible business commitments that are focused on caring for society and empowering communities to succeed . As Chief Responsible Business Officer, she ensures that responsible business practices are integrated into Verizon's business strategy and leads Verizon’s stakeholder engagement with investors who are interested in environmental and other sustainability issues, consumer advocates, civil and human rights organizations, and social impact non-profits.
With over 20 years of experience at Verizon, Donna has held a variety of leadership roles across Verizon’s Legal, Public Policy and Federal Regulatory Affairs organizations. Donna formerly served as Verizon's Senior Vice President for Public Policy and Strategic Alliances. In that role, she led Verizon's global public policy work, engaging with the White House, the Department of Commerce, the FCC and other federal agencies.
Before joining Verizon, she was an associate at Covington & Burling, where she practiced law in the communications regulatory and corporate transactions groups.
Corporate and charitable leadership
In addition to her leadership at Verizon, Donna serves on the National Urban League’s Executive Committee and Board of Trustees. In 2023, she earned the National Urban League’s “Trustee of the Year” Award. In addition, Donna serves on the UnidosUS Corporate Advisory Board and the Advisory Committee of the Center for Democracy and Technology. She is a former trustee of the Federal Communications Bar Association Foundation.
Education and personal background
Donna earned a BA in Journalism and Public Relations from UNC-Chapel Hill and a J.D. with distinction from Duke University.
