Verizon Innovative Learning Schools

Students can run their IT departments

At this Wisconsin school, students staff the Tech Team, handling everything from laptop repairs to morning announcements. The experience is transforming them into confident, solution-focused leaders.

What our program provides:

  • Devices and data plans for students

  • Professional development for educators

  • Supporting the creation of school tech teams that serve as student-run IT departments

That [digital skill] is a skill that you can’t teach... that’s something you have to experience.

Verizon Innovative Learning Lab

How the lab turbocharged one educator’s career

Stuck in his role for decades, New Jersey educator Greg Pardo finally found the path forward through Verizon's professional development. He is now the District Supervisor of Instructional Technology, leading the charge to bring student-centered learning to every classroom.

What our program provides:

  • Dynamic learning environments through our state-of-the-art innovation labs

  • Teacher trainings with ongoing support to enhance learning and critical thinking skills

  • Students get hands-on, project-based learning with emerging tech like AR, VR and 3D printing

Students are working together and the teacher is a guide on the side. That allows the kids to collaborate, communicate, be creative and think critically.
