This March, Verizon attended the Women’s Business Enterprise National Counsel (WBENC) Summit and Salute conference in New Orleans, LA. The conference provides corporate members the opportunity to connect with diverse suppliers through WBENC sponsored events and independent meetings. A team of Verizon employees were focused on finding the right women-owned businesses that can help us build long term value for our customers. Check out some of the highlights from this year’s Summit and Salute:
- Verizon was recognized for the 12th consecutive year by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) as one of the Top Corporations of the Year for supporting women-owned businesses. We were honored to have received this award and delighted to celebrate with WBENC and with corporations like Verizon that enable growth and reduce barriers.
- As part of our Supplier Diversity corporate initiative, Verizon meets continuously with diverse suppliers to build partnerships with businesses that can provide new and innovative solutions, and we were excited to connect with some of these businesses during our face-to-face meetings and match making sessions.
- Lani Ingram, Verizon’s VP – Smart Cities participated on a panel to discuss ICT (Information Communications Technology) and Connectivity of the Future. Attendees gained insights on the general direction of where technology is heading in the future and how smart technology can impact their supply chain and business opportunities.
