Weather is hot, streaming savings are hotter
Americans are spending more on streaming services than gas for their cars, don’t be one of them
TUCSON, AZ – On a sweltering summer day in Arizona, an at-home movie marathon in the air conditioning might be the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Between the cost of air conditioning combined with other monthly bills, streaming services can start to feel like just another added expense. Enter the super bundle. Verizon customers can package their cell phone bill, home internet and streaming services together in order to maximize savings!
It’s an option that Leslie Latimer loves to tell customers about when they visit her at the Verizon store in Tucson. She says she has helped everyone from young families to retirees save money on their bills and in many cases help them realize savings on services that they already have.
“People come in and they might not be thinking of streaming services. I just show them the value and the eyebrows go up,” said Latimer.
At Verizon, these streaming service add-ons are referred to as perks. By simply transferring some of their favorite streaming services to Verizon, customers see instant savings. Popular perks include Netflix and Max (with ads) for $10 per month or the Disney bundle which includes Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ (with ads) for $10 per month. Your favorite service might be available, find out by looking at this list of Perks.
“When you think of the portfolio that we have, anything and everything is at your fingertips,” said Liz Artega, Acting Retail Vice President of Verizon’s Mountain Market.
Artega points out that by bundling Netflix and Max (with ads) with Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ (with ads) customers can get five of the top streaming services for only $20 per month.
“It almost seems too good to be true but this is a reward because you are an existing customer,” said Artega. “A lot of the conversations that we have in our stores are about how customers cut cable but now they have 15 streaming services. We ask what they are paying and show how we can save them money because it’s so important right now.”
Simplify and Save
Recent data shows that Americans are spending more on streaming services than gas for their cars, sometimes paying for services that they are not using or forget to cancel.
When Verizon customers bundle their streaming services, they get access to exclusive pricing that they won’t get anywhere else. Why? Because we got you.
Plus, all of those streaming services will show up on one streamlined bill so you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for and can make adjustments when you need to.
“It goes back to having all your streaming services on one bill because we let certain subscriptions fall through the cracks and you don’t realize you might have more than one subscription for the same service. This lets our customers ensure they are only paying for what they are using,” said Latimer.
Latimer said she likes to highlight the annual savings because it’s one thing to save $10 a month but when you start talking about $120 a year, that really adds up.
Multiply the Savings with a Mobile + Home Discount
A streaming bundle is just one way to save on your monthly bills. Verizon customers can save even more when they bundle their mobile phone service and Verizon 5G Home Internet plan.
The mobile + home discount adds up to another $15 per month in savings! If you want to use that money to add another streaming service, we won’t judge you. Plus, mobile + home customers can enjoy a perk on Verizon by receiving up to $10 per month towards an eligible perk.
“It’s super easy because you keep the same user name and password, you keep the same login so you won’t lose your place with whatever show you’re watching. It’s peace of mind, the simplicity of it and the savings,” said Artega.
Bring on the Popcorn
Ready to binge the next season of your favorite show or host a movie marathon with friends and family?
Artega said she uses movies as a way to bond with her daughter. They are currently watching some of the Disney re-makes of movies that she loved growing up but so far her daughter’s favorite is Lilo & Stitch.
“That’s my way of spending one-on-one time with her and having a connection with her,” said Artega.
With so many perks to choose from, it’s just a matter of finding the right ones so Latimer always wants to know what her customers are watching.
“I think what it comes down to is building trust with the customer, getting to know them. We want to let them know we are on their side and we want to help them save money,” said Latimer.
Sometimes getting to know her customers means sharing Latimer’s go-to shows and movies. When she’s not at work, you can find her streaming all the Marvel movies in chronological order and she’s able to watch them all thanks to her Disney bundle through Verizon.
