About the Friends & Family discount program

  1. What’s the Verizon Friends & Family discount program?

    Eligible friends and family of Verizon employees can get special discounts when they switch their wireless phone service to a Verizon unlimited plan and/or switch their home internet to a Verizon Fios Gigabit Connection (new customers only).

    To get the discount, a Verizon employee must share a Friends & Family* code with you:

    • Each code can be used for a Verizon wireless service discount, a Verizon FiosHome Internet service discount, or both.
    • You can redeem the code only on our website.

    If you got a discount code from a Verizon employee, visit the Friends & Family sign up page now to change your service and apply your discount. Based on your code, you’ll have the option to choose one or both services.

    Note: Fios Home Internet is currently available in these states: New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia, as well as in Washington DC.

  2. How many mobile phones do I have to switch to get the Friends & Family wireless discount?

    You only have to switch 1 smartphone or basic phone line to a Verizon unlimited plan to get a Friends & Family discount. After that you can switch or add as many device lines as you want. You must bring your phone number from another carrier to qualify.

    Your total discount amount depends on the number of mobile phone lines with unlimited plans that are on your account.

  3. Which unlimited mobile phone plans can I get with the Friends & Family wireless discount?

    You can choose from Start Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Get More Unlimited and the Just Kids plans.* Mix and match these plans to fit your needs.

  4. Where can I learn more about the Fios Gigabit Connection?

    Our Fios Home Internet Gigabit connection has wired speeds up to 940/880 Mbps with average speeds between 750-940 Mbps download and 750-880 Mbps upload.* Learn more about our Fios Gigabit internet connection.

    *Wired and wireless speeds vary due to device limits, multiple users, network and other factors.

  5. How long do I have to use my Friends & Family discount code?

    A limited number of discounts are available. The code you got from your Verizon employee friend or family member is good until 1/31/21 or while supplies last.

    If you get an error message when redeeming your code, check back with the person who sent you the code.

  6. When does the Friends & Family discount expire?

    You can keep your Friends & Family discount as long as you keep the discounted service(s).

    Note: Your Friends & Family discount automatically adjusts if you change the number of unlimited plan lines on your account.

  1. Who can get the Friends & Family Verizon wireless plan offer?

    You’re eligible to get the Friends & Family Verizon discount offer if all of these apply. You:

    • Got a Friends & Family offer code from a Verizon employee.
    • Don’t currently have Verizon wireless service and haven’t had Verizon service for at least 30 days.
    • Transfer at least 1 smartphone or basic phone number to Verizon Wireless.
      • You can keep your same mobile number(s) when you transfer.
    • Enroll in at least 1 unlimited phone plan (i.e., Start Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Get More Unlimited, Just Kids)
    • Sign up on our website. This offer isn’t available by phone, at Verizon stores or at authorized dealers.

  2. Who can get the Friends & Family Verizon Fios Home Internet offer?

    You’re eligible to get the Friends & Family Verizon discount offer if all of these apply. You:

    • Got a Friends & Family offer code from a Verizon employee.
    • Don’t currently have Verizon Fios Home Internet service and haven’t had Verizon Fios Home Internet service for at least 30 days.
    • Have Verizon Fios Home Internet service available in your area. Visit our in-home qualification page to check availability.
    • Sign up for a Fios Gigabit Internet plan.
    • Sign up for this offer on our website. This offer isn’t available by phone, at Verizon stores or at authorized dealers.

  3. Can I get other Verizon discounts and offers along with my Friends & Family discount?

    Yes. As a Verizon customer, you may be eligible to also get these other discounts (with qualifying plans), including:

    Note: The Friends & Family discount can’t be on the same account as a military, first responder or corporate employee discount.

  4. If I transfer my tablet’s mobile line to Verizon does that count for a mobile discount?

    No. You must sign up at least 1 smartphone or basic phone line for a Verizon unlimited plan to get the Friends & Family discount. After that you can switch or add as many device lines as you want.

    Only mobile lines that have unlimited plans count toward the Friends & Family mobile discount.

  5. Fios is available in my area but the Gigabit Connection isn’t. Can I still get the Friends & Family discount?

    Yes. If our Gigabit Connection isn’t available in your area, you can sign up for the highest speed Fios Home Internet* connection available and get the $10/month Friends & Family discount. Check Fios availability for your address.

    *Does not include Verizon High Speed Internet (DSL).

  1. How much is the Friends & Family discount when I get an unlimited plan?

    Verizon employees’ friends and family members who switch at least 1 phone line to 1 of our unlimited* mobile plans can get unlimited talk, text and data1 for as low as $30 per line per month with a Friends & Family discount (new customers only).

    Choose from Start Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Get More Unlimited and the Just Kids.**

    The discount amount depends on how many lines with unlimited plans you include on your account:

    1. 1 line - $10 discount per account
    2. 2 – 3 lines - $25 discount per account
    3. 4+ lines - $20 discount per account

How to sign up for the Friends & Family discount

  1. How do I sign up for the Friends & Family discount for Verizon wireless service?

    You have 2 ways to enroll to get the Verizon wireless discount (available for new customers only):

    • A Verizon employee sends you a link to a page to sign up. Your Friends & Family discount code is automatically applied in your shopping cart.
    • A Verizon employee gives you a Friends & Family code. Visit the Friends & Family sign up page, choose Verizon wireless or Fios Home Internet service (if available in your area) and follow the prompts. Enter the code in the shopping cart’s promotion field at checkout.

    From the sign up page, follow the prompts to start your account:

    1. Transfer a line from another wireless carrier.
    2. Tell us how many mobile lines you want for your account.
    3. Fill in your ZIP code.
    4. Pick a plan for each line. (At least 1 unlimited plan is required.)
    5. Add your devices. You can bring your own or buy from us on a device payment plan or at full retail price. You can also do a trade-in and get device protection.

    Your discount is applied when you complete your purchase at checkout.

  2. How do I sign up for the Friends & Family discount for Fios Home Internet service?

    You have 2 ways to enroll to get the Fios Home Internet discount (available for new customers only):

    • A Verizon employee sends you a link to the sign up page. Your Friends & Family discount code is automatically applied in your shopping cart.  
    • A Verizon employee gives you a code, you go to the Friends & Family sign in page and enter the code.
      1. From the sign up page, follow the prompts to start your account.
      2. Fill in your ZIP code and address to confirm Fios Home Internet service is available in your area.
      3. Fios Gigabit Connection is added to your cart.  (Note: The highest speed internet plan available to you is selected by default.)
      4. Pick your TV plan and service options and get installation information. (Note: signing up for Auto Pay and paper-free billing is required).
      5. Follow the prompts to complete your purchase. Your discount is applied at checkout.
