IFS AB Renews And Expands Global Internet Service Agreement with MCI
MCI to Support IFS' Growing Adoption of IP-Based Services Across Europe, Asia and the Americas
STOCKHOLM, 7 June 2004 - MCI (MCIA.PK) today announced that IFS AB (XSSE: IFS), a leading international provider of Web- and portal-based manufacturing, supply chain, customer relationship, financial, engineering, maintenance and human resource management applications, has chosen to extend and expand its global Internet access services agreement with MCI.
After successfully delivering a reliable and cost-effective multinational Internet access solution to IFS locations in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the U.S. for the last two years, IFS is again turning to MCI to support its Information Solution (IS) department's internal infrastructure consolidation program, which is aimed at migrating additional services to IP.
"MCI continues to deliver top-class performance and constant network availability with unparalleled worldwide reach," says Goran Tennby, network manager of IFS World Operation.
The IFS IS department coordinates all the company's IT infrastructure and IS-related services on a global basis through operations on three continents. As a result, one of IFS' primary requirements is a single point of contact with its communications provider with responsibility for global provisioning and support of its Internet connections around the world.
"We are very satisfied with the quality of customer service that MCI provides to IFS," said Tennby, "so it was a natural decision to extend and broaden the contract to meet our expanding communications network requirements."
IFS uses MCI Internet Dedicated services for its fixed Internet connections to the IFS offices which provide the benefits of security, reliability and the high performance of MCI's global backbone network to the customer. IFS utilises the MCI IP backbone for an IP VPN solution that allows IFS to quickly expand its network as communications demand grows.
"IFS' decision to expand its contract with MCI underlines our strong commitment to customer service and client satisfaction," said Ake Florestedt, country leader for MCI in Sweden. "This is yet another example of how MCI's global reach, combined with the expertise of our local sales organisations, creates benefits for our customers that others in our industry cannot match."
