MCI WorldCom Combines Advanced Networks And UUNET Into Integrated Internet Services Division
JACKSON, MS--March, 1, 1999 --MCI WorldCom has combined the operations of its UUNET and Advanced Networks subsidiaries into one organization, offering a full range of Internet services to business customers worldwide. UUNET provides Internet access, web hosting, remote access and other value-added services to its customers worldwide. Mark Spagnolo, who will serve as president and chief executive officer, will lead the division. Former MCI WorldCom Advanced Networks President Peter Van Camp will become president of Internet Markets and will oversee UUNET's global sales, marketing, product and customer support. "Pooling the talent and resources of the two organizations allows us to provide our customers with seamless, integrated Internet communication services in the most efficient and effective manner," said Mark Spagnolo, president and CEO.
