I purchased this charging case, but it failed to work right out of the box. I ordered a replacement, and unfortunately, the second case didn’t work either. Both cases would not take a charge at all—after 3 to 5 seconds, the yellow/orange light would go off. The battery appears to be Dead on Arrival (DOA) and does not charge.
It’s incredibly frustrating. If I could give this zero stars, I would. The Smart Battery Case won’t charge wirelessly or with a lightning cable. With the lightning cable, the orange light flickers on for a moment and then shuts off without charging. Wirelessly, the orange light stays on but never turns green to indicate a full charge. Overall, this has been a huge disappointment.

Ordered 2 cases and both arrived dead and would not charge! We returned them after we found out they don’t charge.

The battery packs I received were DOA upon arrival. They would not charge at all. I took them to an Apple Store had them evaluated and were evaluated DOA. These must have been past their shelf life as well because the packaging was faded and yellow in color. I returned them to a Verizon store.
