Not worth the headache

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you want a reliable camera, there are much better options than this one. The pros of this camera are the picture quality is pretty good, it can be mounted on the wall or sitting on a shelf, and you can disable it when you are home so a lid flips over the lense and covers the camera. Now on to the cons....the reliability is completely lacking. When it decides to work, the live feed is incredibly laggy. Its not a connectivity issue because it is located directly next to my wifi router. More than half the time it will not even connect to live view and just keep saying it is loading. Another issue i ran into is after I had been using it for a few days, it needed a software update which should normally be no big deal....WRONG. Due to needing a software update, it shut down the camera and would not let me use it until it updated. Well i tried to update it which kept resulting in failure to update notifications. So after multiple attempts to update, reset the device, unplug the device, ect...i ended up having to delete the device from my account and try to reconnect it. That still did not solve the problem and at that point i gave up. I left it plugged in sitting there as just a paper weight and tried multiple times everyday to try to get it to update so i could use it with no luck. Finally a week later of daily attempts it decided it would do the update. Since then its been "working." Which i wouldnt consider properly working because i get movement notifications but it will never actually let me view the camera. Its just a never ending loading screen. This camera had a great potential and maybe i just got a lemon but i definitely do not reccomend it. I have other security camera brands and i have never had a headache with them like i have with this one.

I wish there was a way to turn off notifications for while you are at home but still have the activity recorded and have notifications sent when you are away. Maybe this is complicated and confusing and there's reasonings to why we would like all these things to work.

The camera is small which is also great! The only thing that I was disappointed in was having to pay for a membership but at the same time I understand why. It was relatively inexpensive for the membership.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item for free as part of promotion in exchange for my honest review. This camera is a great small indoor camera with an easy to use app and clear visuals. It’s small size makes it discrete and the motion detection is accurate. It also has very clear night vision. I appreciate the privacy shield which is not something I’ve seen on other brands. It easily coordinates with Alexa, and can be used as a microphone back-and-forth.  Set up is a breeze and only took me about five minutes, and I’m not super tech-savy.
My only wish is that it was cordless since having the cord limits or you can put it in your house and cords are also not the safest around toddlers.

It catches everything including audio & animals. You can mess with the settings on when you'd like to record and i love it. I will be buying the subscription!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this Arlo indoor camera. I synced it to my Alexa which was so easy to do. I downloaded the app and can check what is going on in my house. Even at night and even when it’s dark there is clear picture. We like the ability to check in on our dog as well as our kids so this really gets a lot of use. I get alerted for motion detection and can zoom in which is a great feature. Really love this!!!!
