So far I'm loving it and I'm still learning it. I had a fitbit for years but when it died I decided to try Garmin. I still have a lot to learn but so far I've been impressed. It was a learning curve and I'm still learning all the features this watch has but I am loving it!! I'm sure I'll love it even more as I learn all the features of this watch.

I ususally purchase the lower priced models or restored models. This model is a few years older, but I love it already. I do not like the feeling of things on my wrist when I sleep so I've never measure my sleep. This watch feels great and I've been able to get my sleep scores. The only feature I don't love, or maybe understand yet, is the watch face options. I don't love that I can't my hr showing and the seconds of the time showing. Overall, grateful that I purchased this watch and love Garmin.
FITBIT Who? So many years wasted on that toy Google took over, Never looking back. This Garmin vivoactive 6 blows away the Fitbit Versa 4 on every level period.
I bought this about a month ago and there are some changes that are good and some that are not from my previous vivio active 4 model. I mostly like the battery life, this one only needs to be changed about 1-2 times a week. The way to start a walk has more button pushing and also to set an alarm is more challenging. It is nice photos can be placed as a background. There are more activities to chose from than my old vivio and this watch is much lighter. So far those are the items I have used.
I bought this product a few weeks ago and, in terms of its physical appearance (size, color, and material), it is exactly what I expected and I really love it. However, the battery life is shorter than I anticipated, and for that reason I feel it loses some of its overall value.
My Vivoactive 4 had a great feature under golf. It had a live screen telling the distance since the last impact. So I always knew how long I drove the ball. This was also handy to help locate an errant ball since i could go the direction of the ball and use the distance to reduce the search radius. It also helped give feedback on the impact of a swing change. I can't speak for the Vivoactive 5 but that feature was lost on the Vivoactive 6. There is a way to check the distance, but it is too cumbersome to actively use it on the golf course. All of the other changes that I've used have been nice and some real improvements.
I bought this watch to replace a Vivoactive 4S. I thought this watch would have all the features of the 4S and more. I wasn't pleased with the larger size but there is no Vivoactive 6S. In lieu of the smaller size I thought Garmin would at least have included a second bands to fit smaller wrists. They did not. My daughter's much less expensive smart watch came with a long and a short band.
The main feature I miss from the 4S is the altimeter. My 4S had one, the 6 does not. I'm recovering from an injury right now but my hope is the GPS will be able to judge the terrain sufficiently to give accurate elevation measurements.
Aside from that I like the watch. The screen is brighter than the 4S. The clock features are great. I like the auto reset feature on the timer. The sleep metrics, while I'm not sure how accurate, are fun to look at. The nap feature is interesting though not entirely accurate. I like the evening and morning reports and enjoy looking at the other statistics that either weren't available or required going into the Garmin app to find.
I love the longer battery life. I use the timers right now but due to the bad weather and my injury I'm not using the GPS much. I've been getting between 8 and 9 days on a charge. My old one lasted about 2-3 days in the weeks before it finally failed. Still better than other brands of smartwatches other family members use.
