Our son is on the spectrum and is prone to eloping, so this Nest Cam provides us with the peace of mind we need just in case he happens to wander off. We're super impressed by how well the camera captures detail in low light/nighttime. We also love that this Nest Cam has built-in intelligent alerts that can differentiate between people, animals, and vehicles! The zoom and crop feature is super helpful, but I would've loved it if the Nest Cam had a pan/tilt feature, too. It's also super convenient that the Nest Cam provides 6 hours of video history in clips that are just 10 seconds long! The Nest Cam was super easy to install by following the instructions, and it works seamlessly with our Google Home app (but we may be biased because we're a Google Pixel family).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm using the Google Nest Outdoor Security Camera to monitor our pool area, and it's been a great setup for peace of mind. The video quality is clear day and night, and the wide view makes it easy to see what's going on outside at a glance.
You can use this camera without a subscription and still get the live view, motion alerts, and short event clips, which is enough for everyday monitoring. I like knowing I'll get notified if there's movement near the pool even if I'm not checking the app constantly.
With a subscription, you get longer video history and smarter event tracking, which is helpful if you want to go back and review activity from earlier days or missed alerts. I like having that-option, especially when we're away.
Overall, it's easy to use, reliable, and works really well for outdoor areas like a pool where visibility and quick alerts matter.

It is built well, and the sounds is good. I love that it send notifications to your phone when someone is nearby and it seems to be very reliable so far. I do not mind that it is wired for power.
