Thanks for your feedback on our JBL Charge 6. The published up-to-playtime is the maximum battery time you will get when listening at background levels. As you turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but it depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Please try to charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boost, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to-playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, this likely means that the battery is losing its capacity. Great sound, but paint is already coming off…

The sound quality is really good, and honestly I’d give it 5 stars for that alone. But I’m annoyed because I bought a custom JBL Charge 6, got it just 9 days ago, and the paint is already coming off. It’s supposed to be waterproof, so why is the paint peeling just from being outside in the snow? I didn’t even get it wet besides that. The paint SHOULD NOT be coming off this easy. I’m really upset about it. The sound is great, but don’t waste your money on the custom design because the paint will come off really easily if it gets even a little wet. I learned my lesson.

If a pair of these charge 6 speakers are paired together, how far apart can the speakers be and still play the same music off of one phone?

Similar to Bluetooth, this connection offers a reliable range of up to 10 meters (approximately 30 feet) when there is a clear line of sight between the source device and the speakers. Please note that there should be no interference like walls, other objects, and other wireless devices.

CAN YOU PLAY A USB STICK?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Charge 6 does not support playing music directly from a USB flash drive. The USB port is for charging devices, such as a phone, or for lossless audio playback, which allows you to plug in your laptop or other audio device. However, in order for it to work, you need a compatible lossless audio source.
