I bought this a few months ago and was so excited at first since I got a custom build that looks incredible! After a few months of use, the battery has worn down significantly and is absolutely terrible. I wish I had done a bit more research before taking the leap and buying something that won’t last as long.

Thanks for your feedback. The published battery life is up to 12 hours, but actual playtime depends on volume and source content. At background listening levels, you’ll get the maximum battery time, but as you increase volume or boost bass, playtime decreases—just like a phone battery drains faster with a brighter screen. Music with more bass also shortens battery life. It is possible that the battery is working correctly but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Try to charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, this likely means that the battery is losing its capacity. For further assistance, please contact us.

Bought this at the beginning of the month. Was very happy with the look and sound of the speaker. Unfortunately after less than a month with little use the design I picked is coming off the speaker. Pieces of the color on the fabric wrap are coming off and it’s only been used a few times sitting on a counter with no rough use. Will not be making a personalized speaker ever again. Now I have a speaker with white specks where there should be color.

Having been a lifelong JBL fan (have a pair of Decade 26 speakers for almost 30 years, JBL headphones, and a JBL Clip), I wanted to get a waterproof, long battery life portable player. Many of my friend have the earlier Flip models, and they sound amazing...had to grab a Flip 7, and WOW! Classic JBL sound, long battery charge, and the iPhone app to customize the sound (even has an equalizer option) is simply amazing. Love it and highly recommend it!

Great sound, but the colour (blue) in the pictures and the actual colour of the speaker couldn’t be more different… It’s borderline criminal. The blue in the photos looked muted and modern; the real speaker looks like a children’s toy...

Can the Flip7 connect to older audio devices (that do not have Bluetooth, such as cd and mp3 players) using a USB-C to 3.5 mm Aux cable?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Flip 7 supports lossless audio playback through its USB-C port when connected to a compatible device (such as a laptop or another audio source that supports digital audio output). This allows the speaker to play lossless audio when using a direct USB-C digital connection. However, our Flip 7 does not support analog audio input. This means a USB-C to 3.5mm AUX cable will not work, and it will receive audio from older devices like MP3 players.

When using lossless audio, does it reproduce audio and charge simultaneously?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Flip 7 does not have a built-in microphone, so it can’t be used for voice calls or as a speakerphone. It's designed primarily for music playback.

Will this connect to my Extreme 3 with PartyBoost? The features list on this page says "JBL PartyBoost - Yes" but I've read online that Auracast speakers are (annoyingly) not backwards compatible. Which is it?
