[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s a simple and easy to use microphone. I found it picks up my voice well from 6 or so inches away from my mouth. It doesn’t pick up much background noise. This allows me to use it without needing to constantly lean forward to talk. This also allows me to use it and not have the mic in the cameras view. Tap the volume button to mute and the light on the end of the mic turns red. Tap to unmute and the light turns green. I find this mute feature is more convenient to use when on a video call instead of on the computer.

I've used it during my meetings and haven't heard many complaints regarding the sound quality from my teammates when I speak. It's a sleek product and doesn't occupy much space on my desk. It is made of metal and seems robust enough and the balance of the weight of the product is pretty good so that it doesn't trip over easily. The design of the product seems cool and is sleek. This is a very good product to have

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit came nicely boxed and was easy to unpack. It has nice slim Setup was a breeze. but you must download an application for use with a Windows computer. Unfortunately, as of this writing, this JBL Stream microphone is only compatible with Windows devices. A USB C to USB A cable is provided to interface with the computer. Once the App starts, it will search and find the microphone and then provide you with the various options that you may use for controlling the microphone.
It nice slim lines and is very easy to adjust. The base provides a solid foundation for the microphone, and also contains a combination volume control and mute dial. To mute the microphone all you have to do is press the volume control. It also has a nice ring of light around the front of the Microphone which glows green when it is active and red if it is off. The microphone is very sensitive and works quit well for my needs. I use it mostly for speech to text projects and it has worked flawlessly. It also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack built into the base.
In summary, this is a no-frills microphone that works flawlessly for my needs, which is primarily creating speech to text Word documents. It has saved me many hours of manual typing. I am very pleased with the JBL Stream microphone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that this not only sounds good, but it's instinctual to use, whether through the onboard controls or the app. The JBL quantum stream talk microphone is equipped with a super cardioid voice pick up pattern that is intended to pick up sound that is directly in front of it. This is perfect for when you only have a single sound source and don’t want to pick up room sounds that would affect the recording such as recording a podcast, on a skype/teams call or games that require online interaction or to stream your comments during the gameplay. I must say that recordings I have created using this microphone are crystal clear, especially when compared to others using a standard headphone mic. Also there is the quantum engine software download which allows you to adjust various settings such as an equalizer (EQ), LED display and noise reduction. Some other notable features include voice monitoring with easy volume control, a shock absorber for noise reduction, and led ring indicator (red, blue and red for mute) to indicate the microphone status. I really like the LED indicators that are incorporated in the Quantum products, it definitely adds to the experience. I have paired this with the JBL quantum 910P using both the wireless dongle and a direct connection.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I've used this microphone for a few desktop gaming sessions, and work teams meetings. Overall, if you just need a lightweight microphone with adequate voice quality, this would likely be a good buy for you. The regulars I typically game with did notice before I mentioned anything that I was using a different microphone (typically using built in mic on a headset for simplicity sake) - and not in the negative sense.
The feedback I got was my voice sounded 'different' (not really sure what that means LOL) but was clear - not much unlike my headset microphone. How it directly compares I am not sure, but the feedback was positive and no mention of any scratchiness or background noise (I tend to have a fan or my small space heater on behind me and that can be picked up from time to time).
Setup was as easy as you'd hope/expect and was simply plugging in the USB on my desktop end, and the USB-C on the microphone stand itself in the rear. A nice plus is that after Windows installs the base drivers needed to use / recognize the microphone, a pop-up came up allowing me to install the JBL Quantum Engine directly - which allows you to tweak settings on the microphone. Truthfully in my case, I will likely not mess with these settings much - the more hardcore will likely benefit from that ability.
Build wise I do wish the base had more weight to it - it is very light and even just pressing the volume knob (which mutes the microphone) has it wiggling on my desk - which isn't a big deal but something to note. The base has a foam / sponge like material I guess to absorb sound if it does move and likely to help it slide easier on certain surfaces. It doesn't feel very durable (but that is probably just the nature of what it is and what it is for) but if you have a surface with a non smooth surface / move your microphone around a lot I may question how long the material would hold up.
The ball joint design is simple and works - but like the base / lack of weight I question the durability of it. If you don't move your microphone much or have the need to adjust the exact angle of the microphone - again probably a non issue as long as you aren't overly forceful with the product, but I could see the ball joint / attachment area breaking if you are a little more heavy in your hands or use it very often.
The LED on the microphone is a nice touch and one I would hope all microphones have in some capacity so you know clearly whether or not the microphone is active (green) or muted (red). The volume knob has a tactile response (clicks) as you rotate it, which I prefer to smooth knobs personally, and the mute (pressing the knob down) doesn't take too much force but is not so easy that if you happen to brush against it, it may mute the mic if you do not intend to do so.
One final small gripe - I understand JBL likes their burnt orange and has it on a lot of products, etc - but this particular microphone itself has no orange in the design other than the tiny bit of exposed cable between the head and the base - and the included USB cable - I personally wish they just included a plain USB cable (flat black or something more subtle). If the product itself has the orange in it, I get having the orange in the cable(s) - it goes with it. In this case, my desktop / setup has zero other orange and it just looks out of place and is a bit of an eyesore (ok, a little exaggeration :) ).
Overall, the small things mentioned really don't take much from the product and likely would not impact most people who use the microphone (really do not impact me). I wouldn't equate those to being sufficient enough to not recommend the microphone - it does what you would hope a microphone does which is provide a clear representation of your voice as you speak with others over the internet.
A fair amount of other microphones tend to be much larger / bulky so this is a nice in-between from a built in microphone on a headset which likely is not that great of quality (but convenient) and a distracting large microphone dominating your desktop space - which may have slightly better voice quality but at the expense of being massive and likely noticeably more expensive - which likely doesn't warrant the difference in cost.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Quantum is a miniature desktop microphone aimed at users who aren't quite ready to upgrade to professional microphone setups. It is USB powered, as well as USB input, which means it can only run as its own input device, and can not be run through a MIDI interface.
The Quantum has a knob on the base that when pushed mutes the mic but not the headphones, which is great. Twisting the knob increases or decreases the computer output volume, and does change the input volume. It also has a 3.5mm jack for headphones, or for any other output analog device. The ring around the mic's tip glows green when it is active, red when muted, and blue when changing volume. The microphone is permanently attached to the stand, but it has 360 degrees of horizontal movement, and about 60 degrees of vertical movement.
The sound of the microphone is very reminiscent of a gaming headset mic, it is very stiff and boxy, but as I'll explain later, can be remedied with the EQ feature in the software. Also since the mic is attached to the base, it picks up all knob movements quite clearly.
The microphone is a super-cardioid pattern and behaves like a small condenser microphone and picks up surprisingly well up to 10 feet away, of course the further you're away the more room reverb you'll hear. If you boost the input volume to max, it will pick up anything in the room, however if you leave the mic around 1 foot from you, and boost the volume to 50% or less, it won't pick up much else other than your voice.
The microphone does work without installing the JBL software, but the software has a few features that are worth it. The software features are: Mic Input level, Sidetone which allows you to monitor with zero latency, and finally, an Equalizer. The equalizer allows you to boost or cut +/-6db at the following frequencies: 200Hz, 500Hz, 2000Hz, 4000Hz & 6000Hz. While not a very in depth EQ, this does allow you to tweak the EQ enough to get a pleasant sound from it. It also has a few presets to play around with. JBL did claim the software has a noise reduction feature, but does not seem to be available at the time of this review. The mic seems incapable of picking up anything under 100Hz, so you wont get that silky, boomy, FM radio DJ sound, but what you do get is a crisp, clear sound that your friends will have no problem understanding.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get away from a gaming headset and wants a permanent microphone on their desktop, but isn't ready yet to get into professional grade microphones.
