This design is always a great way to protect a phone, with the right amount of thickness to do the job and even help protect the screen. Easy grip, and love that it's got anti-microbial properties also.

I’ve owned a lot of Speck cases, and in the last few years I’ve gravitated to the Presidio 2 Grip over the regular Presidio 2. And I have to say although I do still love the case the grip over the years feels more like a design esthetic over something functional - last year and this year in particular the “grip” has no grip and the case friction when using it is the exact same as the non grip. I wish Speck would go back to making a case with grip functional over form again. I still think Speck cases give my phone the best protection of all the cases I’ve tried over the years just wish they would stop breaking things that work.

Despite all the grooved ridges alongside the whole product, the material itself is very slippery and ultra smooth. It does not catch on your skin nor clothing to have friction and prevent drops by any means. I was discussing this with a Verizon employee and when he touched it across the surface multiple times, he too agreed that it's very slippery. This is unfortunate because I am really looking for one that does have friction functionality. I decided to buy it and try it out for a while, on my first night it already slipped and my pixel 10 fell onto my eye while in bed. This phone won't slip out your hands but you have to actively grip more. It's not much different that the phone being naked without a case. I will say though that the case is hard and provides close to all around protection for drops. Close but not complete, the lip that is supposed to protrude past the camera lens in the back doesn't quite meet the standard I'm seeking. I can tell that with the rough bounce, the camera lens which is very close to being flush with the case lip around the camera lens... the concrete will smack that camera lens and have it potentially crack. If only they made the case lip around the camera lens another millimeter or so. Anyway, the product's appearance does not live up to the functionality.
