Worst pixel I have had.

I used to love Pixel phones; my last one was a 4XL and it was great until it crashed completely a couple of months ago and I was forced to get this one. I hate how heavy it is, the face recognition only works half the time, can't get the fingerprint sensor to work at all. The worst part is the apps, everything is incredibly slow to load and glitchy, apps freezing constantly, just awful, especially when you are traveling and have full signal and Google maps won't load, never had this issue with any previous Pixel phone. Hopefully Google fixes this problem as it looks like a common issue. It does have a good camera though and I like the way it looks.

The design, screen, camera, and speed are fairly decent, but that is where it ends. Traded in my iPhone 11 Pro Max for this based on a recommendation from a friend as I was really wanting to get back into the Android world. This is by far the worst phone I have owned. There are constant Issues with Wi-Fi where the phone says that the Wi-Fi connection has no Internet, but yet I am able to search the web on my computer connected to the same network. I have to reboot the phone often in order to reconnect to Verizon’s network. There are a lot of issues with facial unlock, as well as my fingerprint not being recognized. Cell service reception is poor as well compared to the iPhone I had. For this, being a flagship phone, it really disappoints, especially at the price point. Google has quite a ways to go with these phones to make them truly a flagship phone. I can’t wait for the day I can trade this in for a different product.

When my Pixel 6 Pro suddenly died (the Networking chip failed), I decided to "upgrade" to a Pixel 9 Pro XL (I like large screens). I loved that they got rid of the curved screen like on my Pixel 6 Pro and was hoping Google had improved things like the volume level on speaker phone (they didn't) the mediocre cell and network reception (they didn't), Google Voice Dictation accuracy and timeouts (they did somewhat), camera (they didn't, other than the Zoom lens), and common sense "learning" of how I share photos to suggest most common apps I use FIRST (they DIDN'T!). Then, their April Update changed a bunch of my Sound settings, so initially my phone no longer rang, no longer gave audible sounds for new incoming text messages, phone keypad touches, camera shutter button presses, or any screen taps. I finally fixed MOST of the problems (on my own, as Google Support is H_O_R_R_I_B_L_E!), but still have lingering problems. While there ARE things I like, such as the screen is good, voice quality is good, camera is decent (my old LG G4 was much better), I LOVE Call Screening/Hold For Me, and overall speed seems good. I almost never use any of the AI features, customize my wallpapers or game, so I can't comment on them. But overall, it's a Meh, no better than my Pixel 6 Pro (other than the Zoom lens), with all the same flaws. I guess Google just doesn't get what people need in a phone, and only cares about the new AI features I could care less about. I think this will be my last Google phone.

Wish I would have researched more. Went from a Samsung to Pixel. Phone seems fine, but the transfer of data, apps & contacts is pitiful and oh so painful. Random contact transfers and app transfers. There was a significant "special" on this phone, but if I had known the lack of data transfer, never would have done it.
