Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ - Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up and manage fingerprint recognition to unlock your Galaxy S9 / S9+.
For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Biometrics and security
    .
  3. From the Biometrics section, tap
    Fingerprint Scanner
    .
  4. Enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  5. Perform one of the following:
    • First Time Setup
      1. Swipe your fingertip down over the
        sensor
         (back of the device; below the camera) then repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
      2. Tap
        Done
        (lower-right).
      3. From the 'Try it out' screen, touch the fingerprint sensor to unlock.
      4. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    • Add More Fingerprints
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
        If presented, re-enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
        Up to 4 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
      2. Swipe your fingertip down over the
        sensor
         (back of the device; below the camera) then repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
      3. Tap
        Done
        (lower-right).
      4. From the 'Try it out' screen, touch the fingerprint sensor to unlock.
    • Remove Fingerprint(s)
      1. Tap (check) the fingerprint to remove.
        To select all, touch and hold a fingerprint until selected then tap
        All
         (upper-left).
      2. Tap
        Remove
        .
      3. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
