Google Pixel 7 / 7 Pro - Restart in Safe Mode

Restarting your Pixel 7 / 7 Pro in Safe Mode puts it into a diagnostic state that only runs system apps so you can determine if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.
  1. With the device powered on, press and hold the
    Power and Volume Up buttons
     until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release.
    An alternate method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.
  2. Touch and hold
    Restart
     until the 'Reboot to safe mode' prompt appears then release.
  3. Read the disclaimer then tap
    OK
     to confirm.
    The restart process may take up to 45 seconds to complete.
  4. Upon restart, 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock / Home screen.
  5. To exit Safe mode, restart your device.
